Having technician turnover is always difficult, but even more challenging if your practices are not hard wired and easy to understand what the expectations are. In 30 minutes we can share how to make this easier to manage all your compliance in 1 location.
Hospital pharmacy technicians begin their day by reviewing tasks from previous shifts and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They manage a variety of responsibilities, including restocking automated dispensing cabinets and adhering to USP 797 and USP 800 for medication compounding. Throughout their shift, they verify delivery orders, ensure accurate medication delivery, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet urgent patient needs. Their role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and safety of pharmacy operations, making them essential to the healthcare system. #usp797 #usp800 #usp795 #pharmacytech #pharmacylife #compliance #Diversion #sterilecompounding #Katanarx #Terlumina

Patient-Centric Ambulatory Care Pharmacist Leader l Transforming Healthcare through Medication Management
Great read! The most important takeaway that resonated with me was having the right MINDSET and UNITY to “advocate and move initiatives forward that will benefit patients and the profession” and to “adopt a philosophy of permissionless innovation rather than relying on the precautionary principle”. All patient-centric pharmacists, physician champions supporting pharmacist-services, and pharmacy organizations need to be in a unified spot to support FULL SCOPE OF PHARMACY PRACTICE! Please share your thoughts!
One of the hot topics as of late in pharmacy is resistance and “bullying” from the American Medical Association in a recent scope creep article comparing pharmacists to physicians. While it is great to see those within pharmacy push back (such as American Pharmacists Association) on the never ending turf war catalyzed by the AMA, it is rare to see forward thinking and innovative solutions being proposed on the way forward. A proposed vision to this conundrum is pharmacy moving to a Full Scope of Practice. This involves coming together, stopping our own inner profession quarrels, and a paradaigm shift. It won’t be easy, some may argue it is not feasible, and others will come up with reasons why it can’t be done, but nothing truly impactful comes at ease. You have to work your ass off for results and know it will be a grind! We MUST step up, rise to the occasion, and work together now more than ever. Working alongside other healthcare professionals and in a collaborative manner is common, but moving towards an independent Full Scope of Practice is necessary for many reasons. You may be wondering, what is “Full Scope”, how do we get there, and what are the barriers? I took the inspiring words from Ross Tsuyuki original published paper on Full Scope, and expanded that vision in the latest Pharmacy Times article below. https://lnkd.in/e86gYq2C #pharmacy #innovation #collaboration #fullscope

Check out this article on safety in medicine compounding.
As strong supporters of the THRIV Coalition for IV Accuracy and of Mark Neuenschwander and his life-long passion for medication safety, PharmConsult is pleased to re-publish (with the author’s permission) Mark’s recent article on the high risk of IV preparation. In this article, Mark highlights the value of the use of IV preparation technology that: ✅Combines reliable ingredient- and volume-verification tools, and workflow hardware/software systems ✅Guides pharmacy technicians step-by-step through each IV recipe ✅Prevents them from moving to next steps until all previous steps have been precisely performed https://lnkd.in/ebUcmjb8
