Last night Matthew Hernandez, NMD and I played Pickleball for the first time. We were invited to play by some of our entrepreneur friends. I would not consider myself an athletic person. I work to be fit and healthy, but sports have never been my thing. Honestly, I’ve been wanting to learn Pickleball for a while, but I felt intimidated playing with people who know what they are doing. Turns out, I had a great time learning to play and can’t wait to go back. It was great exercise, while getting to enjoy time with great people. What more could I want? I learned a few things as well: 1. The story I tell myself about not being athletic sometimes makes me slow to try new things I might really enjoy. 2. I don’t have to be great at something to enjoy it. I think this is the key with getting more activity in, finding something you genuinely enjoy doing that gets you moving. Often this means trying something you’ve never done before. 3. Work to not take everything so seriously. Some things are just meant to be exercise and good fun. 4. Being “not good” at something is just challenging your brain and body to learn something new. Embrace it. I don’t plan on being sporty any time soon, but I do plan on hitting the Pickleball court again. #longevity #movementismedicine

Companies are ditching golf for #pickleball to get deals done, according to Bloomberg. For me, it was just loads of fun. I don't get golf but I totally get pickleball. Here's why I'm lovin' it: 1. Easy to learn: No expensive lessons needed. 2. Quick matches: Perfect for busy schedules. 3. Casual vibes: Shorts and sneakers > polos and slacks. Thanks to Dr Azhar who invited me for my virgin pickleball game. I'm hooked and looking forward to playing more pickleball as another exercise to put into my workout repertoire. Have you tried pickleball? Who's up for a match? Happy pickle 🥒> Julius Lim of B&B Labs

Dynamic performance-driven and dedicated professional accustomed to working in fast-paced environments.
My master athletes and Pickleball. We have lots of fun! Pickleball is a fast-growing sport, gaining popularity, especially among the master athletes and older adult populations. The pickleball culture is welcoming, despite its competitiveness. The teams and leagues are a draw for those who want to meet new people. These unique features can translate to a range of physical health benefits for those who play regularly: 1. Increases balance and coordination. To succeed at pickleball, you need to: Move forward, backward, and side-to-side around the court. Navigate your play around the “kitchen” (the no-volley zone on either side of the net). Place your shot strategically so your opponent can’t hit the ball. React quickly to balls coming at you. “These movements sharpen the connections between your body, brain, and eyes. Over time, you develop better balance and coordination.” 2. Improves heart health. “When you play pickleball, your heart rate and breathing rate are up and you’re burning calories. That translates to better heart health, lung health, and weight management.” 3. It's just a lot of fun! I'm undefeated! #pickleball #LOVEYOURLIFE

I started playing in a pickleball league this morning After playing recreationally for two years, it was time to take it up a notch. It was a blast, even though I lost more games than I won. But now, every Wednesday morning for two hours, I get to indulge in a passion of mine with people who love the game just like I do. Remember: your work will be there when you get back into the office, but your life can too easily slip by. Make sure your priorities are right. #pickleballislife #financialplanning #abbvie

Why Business is Like Pickleball 🏓 I’m a pretty big fan of pickleball. I never played racket sports as a kid, but when I was introduced to pickleball in 2020 (like the rest of the world!) I fell in love. So allow me a moment to wax poetic about pickleball and teamwork in an organization. Because, just like in business, pickleball requires coordination, communication, and teamwork to be successful. In pickleball, you've got to work together with your partner, covering each other's backs, strategizing your shots in the moment, and staying connected to win points. The best pickleball teams are like well oiled machines. It’s like they can read each other’s minds. That's exactly how it should work in the business world! Whether you're collaborating on a project, brainstorming ideas, or navigating challenges, it ought to be all about that same spirit of teamwork. But that takes trust and excellent communication. If you don’t have that, you’re not going to get very far. Here’s hoping you and your team dink well together and aren’t getting pickled. And remember: Stay out of the kitchen. (Thanks for letting me get a bit cheesy about pickleball…) 🎾 #Teamwork #Pickleball #Business
