It's crucial to understand what investors are seeking to be successful in raising funds. In today's letter, I have chosen to delve into the key factors investors consider before committing to fund your business. Here are five essential aspects that investors typically consider: 1. Viable Plan: Ensure you have a comprehensive plan that addresses the challenges in your market. Are potential customers willing to pay for the solutions you provide? Clearly articulate the value proposition and market demand for your product or service. 2. Killer Team: Showcase the strength of your team – from business leadership to technological expertise and marketing prowess. It's not just about the number of people; it's about the synergy and competence of your team members. 3.Traction and Leads: Demonstrate evidence of market interest through pre-sales, commitments, or customer interactions. At the pre-seed stage, emphasize the number of potential customers you've engaged with and convey how this translates into demand for your agritech solution. 4. Thesis Fit: Clearly define your core story and align it with the values and objectives of potential investors. If your agritech venture is focused on sustainability, emphasize this alignment. Our portfolio company neustark raised USD 69m from BlackRock, Temasek, Blume Equity and existing investors (Holcim, Siemens Financial Services, ACE Ventures). The Swiss startup permanently binds CO2 from biogas plants in recycling concrete, which is used to build roads or produce building materials. With 19 plants already running and 40 under construction, Neustark aims to remove 1 million tons of CO2 by 2030. Neustark is one of the fastest-growing carbon removal companies. Its clients include blue-chip companies such as Microsoft and UBS, which buy carbon removal credits certified under the Gold Standard from the startup.
