Glycol Dehydration by TEG is one of the gas most common dehydration processes, which applies absorption process by using liquid desiccant, triethylene glycol (TEG), to remove or lower water content from natural gas stream.

Ethylene Glycol. No odor, no color. They use in Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system due to lower freezing point. Pure ethylene glycol freezes at -12C, while mix 60% ethylene glycol 40% water it may reach to -45C. As TES is to store an ice, if they are using normal water inside the pipe as an energy transfer medium, for sure it will freeze as well.

Many refainers want to have the greater conversion from heavy hydrocarbons to lighter products with a excellent quality. In this case the sulphur content in the FCC Gasoline is a common quality problem, it may be controlled by three parameters. the first is to increase the amount of DVGO in the charge/Feed, the second is to adjust the Gasoline Final boiling point (FBP)and the third by hydrotreating to reduce sulphur in gasoline before going to storage. we must know that during Gasoline hydrotreating can be saturating olefins and consequently reducing octane, however there are different ways to avoid problems downstream in the Gasoline pool. One case is to pass this product stream through the FCC gasoline hydrotreating process to convert sulphur into hydrogen sulfide and remove sulphur content getting the ultra low sulphur gasoline with retention octane. The Glycol Gas Dehydration System: A Glycol Gas Dehydration System is used to remove water vapor from natural gas to prevent pipeline corrosion and hydrate formation. The process involves passing the wet gas through a contactor tower, where it flows over trays or through packing that allows it to mix with triethylene glycol (TEG), a liquid that absorbs water. The water-rich glycol is then sent to a reboiler, where it is heated to remove the water and regenerate the glycol. The dry gas is then ready for further processing or transport, and the regenerated glycol is recycled back into the system.

For paraffinic based oils, pour points are usually between −12 °C and −15 °C and for naphthenic base oils it is near about (−70 °C). so in cold area we preferred naphtha and in hot area we may go with paraffinic based oil. 2.Oxidation Rate-The oxidation rate of the naphtha based transformer oil is much more than the paraffin based, but there is a plus point as the sludge formed because of the oxidation of naphtha is comparatively more soluble in the transformer oil than that of the paraffin oxidation sludge, and therefore it interferes less with the cooling system and doesn’t deteriorate the transformer oil as fast as what paraffin can do.
