From court battles to financial setbacks, Starbucks is weathering a storm of controversies. The coffee giant has been dragged to court multiple times—for big issues, like racism, or seemingly small ones, like skimping on milk and ice in its drinks. Collectively, these have significantly impacted Starbucks both financially and in terms of its reputation. With $11 billion in losses as of December 2023 and a 9.4% decline in value, the coffee giant faces its longest stock decline since going public in 1992. Here's a look at the multiple instances that led to Starbucks's downward trajectory. https://lnkd.in/duWVByjQ #starbucks #businessinsights

Ok! Just one big regular post today, as Starbucks has come to it's senses dumping it's failed India #CEO and replaced them. Companies like TCS Cognizant InfoSys etc ship in mega-crap mega-slow failed cheap useless incompetent toxic clique lazy people from India plus other countries for skilled jobs like IT, but well over 99% kicked-out so they to get blue coller jobs in violation of their visa type or become IT recruiters agents. The less than 1% that do survive only do so in nearly all cases because they become Boss's to get others tgat can do the work to do great work so the usless India people that cannot do the work themselves can be a success! Stop hiring promoting non-firing non-layoff people because they are women or minorities especially African American + India or lgbtq+ or disabled or veteran due to your Woke-DEI agendas plus Woke-DEI people you have in Csuite already which is blatent discrimination bias inequalty againstnon-disabled non-veteran straight white males. Always hire promote non-firing non-layoff the best person. Boycott the woke-SBA and woke-cities/states that push their Woke-DEI agendas with WOB MOB LGBTQ-OB Disabled-OB Veteran-OB which is blatent discrimination bias inequalty against non-disabled non-veteran straight white males. Make is illegal for women and minorities and lgbtq+ and disabled and veteran from blackmailing companies/orgs by saying if you do Not hire or promote or fire or layoff or use use the #business we own we will sue you forcing to hire keep promote them or the business they own. STOP WOKE-DEI AGENDAS PLUS SPECIAL ADVANTAGES FOR WOKE-DEI CLASSIFIED PEOPLE! Dump Woke-DEI agendas and special advantages for Woke-DEI people and Woke-DEI advertising ubless you want a massive backlash with massive sales boycotts and recruitment boycotts and company boycotts and brand boycotts like Bud Light etc. Stop using bad toxic clique ass-kissing sucking-up lazy poor-performance bad-quality crap coasters talkers prima-donna BSers people whoever they are (including white males as well as Woke-DEI people). Ban indemnity clauses. WE NEED TRUE EQUALITY WITH NO DOUBLE STANDARDS. For example, I know many African American friends and every one just wants to be treated as a person and hired/kept based upon their work plus merit and Not because they are African Americans. Well the cheap mega-crap mega-slow failed India and Philippines etc onshore offshore labor experinent has failed badly! Employers have too many Boss's & workers & HR plus 3rd party recruiters that want to do No work that drive out all your great-quality high-performance talent. https://lnkd.in/enFB__Gq #news Linkedin News #cfo LinkedIn News #coo LinkedIn #economy #finance #ceo #cio #executive #leadership #leader #Csuite #management #manager Doug McMillon Walmart CVS Health Cargill Walgreens Boots Alliance Amazon J.P. VERY interesting happenings in the coffee world right now. After the very successful and fun W.W.C.M.D. series on Dunkin' , I decided to monitor the world of coffee. I found this article and wanted to share it with a bit of commentary. https://lnkd.in/eeR9CyEP Consumers are looking for value. My series outlined that and then some, so the time is now for Dunkin' Donuts to make some changes. Starbucks, their largest competitor, is struggling and much of that is their own doing. I had a comment in one of the W.W.C.M.D. series on Dunkin' that asked a question that I want to revisit. The question basically asked why would Dunkin' Donuts do anything as they are currently doing okay? My answer was the same as it is now. Companies don't make changes simply because they are going out of business. Companies should be eying pivot point opportunities and chances to enter the market space differently CONSTANTLY. This moment, right here, is prime for Dunkin' Donuts to aggressively grab those boycotters and those tired of the inflated prices/overly political message that Starbucks uses. If you offer a better option and it is not only convenient but cheaper, you WILL grab the market share you are after. Take note of this, Change Makers.

Does the CEO's role matter in a company's success? Absolutely, and the case of Starbucks is a clear example. Laxman Narasimhan's 17-month tenure as CEO of Starbucks was marked by significant challenges, ultimately leading to his departure. During his time, Starbucks faced declining sales, intense clashes with unionized workers, and pressure from activist investors. Sales dropped sharply, particularly in key markets like the US and China, despite efforts to introduce new products and strategies. Additionally, the company experienced tensions with the Workers United union over issues such as LGBTQIA+ rights and the use of the company’s branding in social activism, leading to lawsuits. The presence of activist investors like Elliott Management and Starboard Value further complicated Narasimhan's leadership, as they pushed for actions to boost the company’s stock price. Howard Schultz, Starbucks' former CEO and chairman emeritus, was also critical of the company's direction, emphasizing a need to return to core values and improve customer experience. Schultz’s pointed remarks and lack of acknowledgment for Narasimhan in the company’s leadership change announcement underscored the difficulties during Narasimhan's tenure. https://lnkd.in/dCk8X5Fr

Cancel Culture Strikes Again! In a surprising turn of events, Starbucks CEO Laxman Narasimhan has been replaced by Brian Niccol, the current CEO of Chipotle. This change follows the growing wave of social media backlash since the October 7th attacks in Israel. Companies like Starbucks, McDonald's, and Burger King have faced boycotts over perceived support for Israel, either directly or indirectly. In today's politically charged environment, it's more important than ever for brands to be acutely aware of PR challenges. With an election year underway and an uncertain economic landscape, brands need to recognize that their most loyal consumers are often their most politically engaged. This makes it critical to navigate these issues carefully and strategically. For more on this breaking news, check out the full article:https://lnkd.in/eu2Uu6QV
