In this week of REVIVE campaign, coming up next is Mini report 4. Mini report 4 highlights one of the key REVIVE learnings, multiplying reach and amplifying impact. The RG initiative has proven the immense value of trust and flexibility. With 90% of participants repaying their grants—despite no legal obligation to do so— and several cycles of disbursement, an economic phenomenon called multiplier effect was created. This multiplier effect led to an observation of REVIVE Alliance reaching to people 2-3 times more than the initial reach. The multiplier effect depends on two factors that is repayment rate (%) and cycles of disbursement and it impacts the number of people impacted. Higher the repayment rate and the number of cycles of disbursement, higher will be the multiplier effect. Therefore, higher the multiplier effect, higher will be the number of people impacted. The Returnable Grant program achieved a 2-3x multiplier effect and even up to 5 times in some partners. Co-creation and participatory policy making sound familiar for many of us, but we tend to overuse these terms and experience that these processes give voice to the loudest covering up the voice of the most needy. In the UPLIFT project we piloted a co-creation process that focuses on the vulnerable young people to influence local education and housing policy. With a systemic and long term co-creation process we reached a mindset change not only among young people but also among local policy makers.
