CEO at CottonConnect. Changing systems, transforming supply chains, translating social impact into business value.

Today we are pleased to announce the launch of the first-ever Responsible Business for Gins 'Code of Conduct', designed by CottonConnect to raise #standards in the crucial process of #ginning in the #cotton supply chain. We’ve been working closely with gins in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh over the past six years, building a strong relationship of trust. We are now working with over 100 gins, jointly assessing issues and developing protocols. Our approach is for improvement that helps gins raise standards and supports their aim to become a partner of choice for retail brands. Our goal is to support retailers to have more #transparent and #ethical supply chains. Improving standards at gins is part of that. A fully sustainable supply chain must include the ginning stage. Developed in consultation with industry stakeholders and independent verification bodies, the Responsible Business for Gins Code of Conduct sets the framework for assessing processes and implementing best practices.  https://lnkd.in/e6SDQ_7a

Great to see light being shed on the ginning process - especially important (but often overlooked) social sustainability factors.
