🎤 Where Dem Dollas At: How to Approach Exec Stakeholders for More Funding 🎤 Securing additional funding can feel like trying to score a last-minute backstage pass. You’ve got to make the right moves and say the right words. Here’s how you can approach your executive stakeholders to open up the purse again: 🏆𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝘁𝘀: Just like every artist knows their top tracks, know your project's key successes and be ready to showcase the value delivered so far with concrete results and data. 🎭𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: Before diving into the ask, provide context. Explain the current project status, what’s changed, and why additional funds are necessary. Make it clear that this isn’t about overshooting but optimizing for success. 🪝𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗼𝗸: Your ask should be compelling; it needs to stick. Clearly outline how the additional funds will be used and the expected impact. Show how this isn’t just spending but an investment in further success. 🥁𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀: Align your request with some broader business objectives. Show your stakeholders how opening the purse again aligns with their strategic goals, making it a smart business move, not just a bailout. 🔁𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: Assure them of continuous updates and transparency on how the additional funds are driving project success. Like an encore performance, promise to keep the hits coming. 𝗔𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀!

“Why Wait for January 1? Start Today.” Still three days until the New Year, and I bet many of us are already dreaming big - new goals, fresh resolutions, exciting plans for 2025. But here’s a question: Why do we always wait for January 1 to begin? Every year, we make resolutions - only to abandon them weeks later. Does this sound familiar? You were excited at first, but life happened, and those goals faded into oblivion. What if you didn’t wait this time? What if you started right now? What if instead of getting a kick out of planning to start something in three days, you started that something today and took the resolution to continue doing that in the new year? ✅ Planning to complete a certification? 📚 Want to read six books by next year? 💪🏻 Dreaming of a beach body by the time summer kicks in (if you aren't living in Australia)? Don’t wait for the perfect time - it doesn’t exist. The best time to start was yesterday. The second-best time is today. So, what’s stopping you? Share your goals below and let’s make progress together - starting now.

As January comes to a close, it's time to assess progress toward 2025 goals. (Yes, we don't have to wait until end of Q3 to do this.) Are there any that have already been abandoned (i.e. New Year's Resolutions)? If so, treat each day as a new start and use Feb 1 as a re-kickstart. Are there any annual goals that you are putting off working on because you have 'all year to get it done'? Start them now and put an action plan into place for what to accomplish in the next time period. Break down goals into smaller pieces. Treat each quarter as its own year and you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish. What do you want to accomplish in February? Make a plan and take action.

3 lessons I have learnt from not achieving all my September Goals: 1. Tell people what you are offering!!!! (Rookie error alert – I put two offers out once and one offer I didn’t even offer!!!) 2. Know your starting point – I set myself a goal for increasing number of connections but didn’t know how many I had to start with! 3. Break down big goals into weekly/daily goals (I already knew this, I just didn’t do it!) As October begins, I will be taking these lessons forward as I set my goals not only for this month but for the rest of the year. There is still 25% of the year left and I want to make the most of it. If you’ve not set your October goals yet and haven’t even considered what you want to achieve by the end of 2024, there are two ways you can work with me: 1. A 90-minute goal setting session, with a free 30-minute reflection session at the beginning of November to celebrate your wins and reflect on what to do differently 2. I am offering 5 people the opportunity to come together, weekly between now and Christmas to set goals, identify actions and provide support and accountability to achieve those goals by Christmas. Both offers are available until Friday 4th October, comment or DM me GOALS for more information

Every productivity measure you have tells an incomplete story. It tells how much is getting done, not the quality, not the trade offs, not the avoidance of learning, not the people left underskilled, not the new options that were ignored, not the inefficiencies left in place, not the growing piles of meetings spawned by not knowing any of the things in this list. Productivity and Quality must be in balance or you will nave neither. Come on and join us at Modus Institute where we work on this stuff every day. --> https://ow.ly/jnBf50TVA2I

One thing I’m learning is the power of consistency. No matter what we set our hearts to do, consistency is key to building something truly worthwhile. For example, I have a target to read one chapter a day from a particular textbook for a professional program I’m currently running. What has kept me on track is simple: I leave the book on my office table, where I can always see it. Out of sight, out of mind, right? But by keeping it visible and having a set time to read it, I’ve created a structure that keeps me accountable. What are you trying to be consistent in doing this week?

Q4 is underway my friends. And THIS is how you’re going to smash it 👇🏼 You’ve got goals. Big ones. But sometimes it feels like you’re stuck spinning your wheels. This far into the year, honestly? You might be. Here’s what I want you to do: 1. Step away from your desk 2. Get outside for a good ol’ walk 3. Clear your mind of all the chatter 4. Think BIG: what do you want to achieve 5. Like really, really by the end of this year? 6. What’s the ONE thing that will get you there? There’ll be one thing, more than anything else, that should get your Q4 attention. What is it? Whatever it is: → focus on it → make it top priority → push everything else aside By simplifying your focus, you’ll not only get more done - you’ll get the right things done. And that’s how you’ll see real, measurable progress faster than you thought possible. Take 2 minutes now, follow these steps and commit to that one task. Then watch what happens. You’ve got this my friend 💪🏼 P.S. Does it scare you to strip back your focus like this?
