FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) offers a lean-back streaming experience for viewers. It’s a streaming experience which typically hosts a much more familiar interface — and has an increasingly more prominent place on consumers’ TV screens. Here are three reasons why viewers are flocking to FAST: 📺 Love for the linear-like experience: FAST often features a traditional TV guide of channels, times, and program schedules. 💸 Reallocating their resources: Consumers are reassessing their spending habits because cord cutting and aggregating subscriptions to streaming services has resulted in little to no savings. 💡 Discovery of niche content: FAST offers viewers programming that’s suited for their interests in customizable categories and channels. Viewers scroll through channels to discover “what’s on,” rather than “what can I find that I might want to watch.” Learn more from Effectv 👇 #EffectvEmp #FAST #ott #ctv #digitalvideo #localadvertising #effectvinsights

Interesting analysis from Parrot Analytics that examines the content catalogs of various streaming networks during Q1 2024. Some incredibly popular TV shows like The Office, Friends and Grey's Anatomy help streaming platforms attract and retain subscribers. But is it a solid long-term strategy. The chart below shows that during Q1 2024, over half of the Netflix catalog was its own original content. While they still license originally released, legacy content, they are clearly betting on their own original content. #streaming #streamingvideo #netflix #contentcatalog #TVshows #television #lineartv #streamingcontent #paramountplus #appletvplus #max #hulu #disney #originalcontent #primevideo #peacock
