The Nasdaq 100 index is made up of the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange. These companies are leaders in their respective industries and are known for their innovation and growth potential. By investing in the Nasdaq 100, investors can gain exposure to these leading companies and benefit from their potential for long-term capital appreciation.

Ever heard the term “market capitalization”? This concept, otherwise known as market cap, refers to the total value of a publicly traded company’s outstanding shares. It is calculated by multiplying the stock price by the number of shares. Market cap allows investors to evaluate a company based on how valuable it is perceived to be by the public. Choosing to invest across market caps may be beneficial in building a well-diversified portfolio.

One of the benefits of working at Nasdaq is that you can make smart investment decisions with ease. Many people who join Nasdaq hope to learn more about investing in stocks. While this is may be true, the best chance to invest comes from sharing your knowledge and experience with the generation that will shape our future. Is being a public company going out of favour? After spending a couple days in Texas who recently announced their own new stock exchange, I looked into the public vs private question a bit... Certainly more money has been flowing into private markets. There is a McKinsey stat that said private market assets under management has growth nearly 20% per annum since 2018. Meanwhile, the chart here shows each year less and less public companies in the US. Makes me question, should there be less public companies? In March 2023, Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (#TSE) requested that all listed companies on the Prime and Standard Markets take “Action to Implement Management that is Conscious of Cost of Capital and Stock Price.”   While many listed #companies are taking steps to respond to the request, with 49% of Prime Market listed companies and 19% of Standard Market listed companies disclosing information as of the end of 2023, many #shareholders and #investors in #Japan and #overseas have expressed their expectations for further progress in companies’ initiatives, and many listed companies have requested that TSE publish key points and case studies. https://lnkd.in/gGNJZZGF
