June is Post Traumatic Stress Awareness Month. PTS rates are high -- in and out of the military -- for good reason. Our internal dialogues, the shifting cultural moral foundation, the experiences of our past, and the lies we subconsciously believe about ourselves and our situation can impact much of our present. If you are struggling with PTS, please know you are not broken or hopelessly disordered. There is hope, and there is a positive trajectory toward healing and living with purpose. The road to learning how to process the past , respond to present situations and live for the future is certainly a journey that takes some intentional, hard personal work. You can discover and experience Post Traumatic Growth. We want to point you to some great resources put out by one of our "big brother" organizations, the Mighty Oaks Foundation. If you're struggling with something, reach out. After I got out of the military, I thought I felt completely fine. But I ended up having some health things happen to where my testosterone plummeted and I was feeling a bit off, so I ended up taking myself to get checked out. I went to see somebody who didn't just check off boxes for PTSD or refused to dig a little deeper when I answered 'No' to a lot of the PTSD screening questions. And come to find out, my symptoms of PTSD manifested a lot differently than what most of us think PTSD really is. So if you're feeling this way, reach out to somebody. You're not alone in it. Use this as a little message of encouragement and support to take care of yourself, go get yourself checked out if you think something is off, and reach out to friends and other veterans to help you out if you're struggling. Go ahead and share this to your story or send it to a buddy who you think might need it. #realestateinvestors #militarytomillionaire #realestateinvesting #usmilitary #usveterans #militaryveterans #militaryservicemembers #financialeducation #financialliteracy #financialfreedom #activedutymilitary #investingtips101 #militarylife #militarylifestyle #ptsd #ptsdawareness #ptsdsupport #ptsdtherapy #ptsdhelp

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a significant mental health issue affecting half of veterans and military personnel. It often arises from exposure to combat, life-threatening situations, or other traumatic events experienced during service. Symptoms can include flashbacks, severe anxiety, and uncontrollable thoughts about the trauma. Addressing PTSD is crucial for the well-being of veterans, requiring comprehensive support systems, access to mental health services, and community understanding. The Wounded Warrior Project offers PTSD mental health services and resources for veterans through interactive programs, workshops, and a broad range of other services. “Don’t be afraid to ask for help.” https://lnkd.in/geH9Erj5 www.clearpathomecare.com #PTSDawareness #VeteransMentalHealth #SupportOurVeterans #HealingHeroes #MilitaryPTSD #EndTheStigma #WarriorStrong #WoundedWarriorProject #ClearPathHomeCare

Although Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is not limited to veterans, those who have served our country are at a higher risk of developing PTSD. At Astrion, we support those who serve not just as our customers but also with the many active duty and veteran military members we work with daily. As their partners, it is our responsibility to acknowledge the very real impact of PTSD and work together to reduce the stigma around discussing mental health. Together, we can make a difference. If you or a loved one are struggling, resources are available - call or text 988, and press 1 to speak with a responder qualified to support Veterans. Veterans and Mental Health Awareness Week Contrary to how popular culture would have you believe just because a Veteran has PTSD or some other underlying mental illness we aren’t all out for vengeance, we’re not all psychotic murderers! I’ll grant you that we may have a moment or two when we’re not entirely in the room. Sometimes we may even ask to leave said room but we’re actually still hugely productive and bring a lot of good to society. “I can’t understand veterans.” A sentence that I’ve heard more than a few times but, in my opinion, this shows a lack of willing rather than a problem with veterans. As a trombone player I don’t understand why anyone would choose to play the violin instead but also realise that when played in harmony they make a ruddy good sound. This week please dwell a pause from time to time to realise that just because veterans may bring some mental baggage with them they aren’t any less able than anyone else. In fact I’d argue I’m a better leader, manager and indeed, human, than I was before I had my mental health moment whilst I was serving. If in doubt ask. You wouldn’t dismiss someone out of hand because of their interesting instrument choice, why dismiss someone who chose to protect the freedom of our country? Onwards! #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mentalhealth #leadership #management #veterans #transitioningmilitary
