You Gotta Take This Seriously!
I’m concerned about you and your health, so listen up.
Physical health isn’t just about hitting the gym occasionally or eating a salad once in a while. It’s about consistent, intentional choices every day.
I’m not the greatest at this, but I’ll tell you where I am now. I work with a personal trainer and dietician to keep my movement and food in line with my future goals.
So, all good right? WRONG! What’s the issue? ME!!!
For some reason, if I go over my calories a little bit one day, I think, "Well, that day’s shot," and end up going over… a lot… like eating-a-whole-row-of-Oreo-cookies-a-lot. Sure, I get back on track the next day, but a little over is better than a lot.
Then there’s movement. Sometimes, I look at my step count at lunch and see 400 steps. That means I got out of bed, walked through my bathroom and kitchen, and ended up in my office, where I’ve been parked for 4 or 5 hours.
To tackle these, I’ve resorted to tracking my food and water on an app and getting an under-desk treadmill.
Here’s the simple thing I’ve learned and want to share with you… pay attention to this stuff. If you’re paying attention, if you’re intentional, your diet and exercise WILL come into alignment. It’s okay if you slip… just get back to paying attention to it. Keep it up. Don’t stop.
These small daily choices make a big difference in the long run. I’ve personally seen the payoff in my overall health and wellbeing. So, keep moving, stay mindful of what you eat, and remember that every little bit counts.
