Well, not a lot of Canadian mining companies around that could buy it. That ship sailed with the hollowing and concentration of the mining industry 20 yrs ago. Major funds in Canada are pensions that mostly don't invest in mining (anymore). OTPP did, but got out 10+ yrs ago.

Glencore will achieve its objectives, Alp Bora because it sees Canadian mining for the chum in the water it is. It will do it in small bites (sustainably, if you will) as it has not succeeded in big ones re: Teck.
