I am using Formula 1 (shocker) as an example, but Jeremy Korzeniewski's article highlights several gaps at the Canadian Grand Prix. These need to be resolved to maintain a certain level of quality and enable increased attendance (revenue) next year. The series "Drive to Survive" has helped jumpstart F1 into markets and demographics where it previously struggled to gain hold. However, to maximize (and maintain) this level of success, F1 must address and resolve ongoing issues brought up in the article. Failing to do so will cost them in the long run. This example is universally applicable though. Automotive suppliers are needing to reduce cost. Some of these cost-cutting measure might improve their bottom line with short-term solutions, but they could be sacrificing long-term profitability through quality, increasing lead times, or forgoing capital investments. What strategies do you think businesses should be deploying to balance immediate gain with long-term sustainability and growth? If you're an F1 fan looking to attend the Canadian GP next year, I recommend giving the article a read. #formula1 #automotiveindustry #drivetosurvive https://lnkd.in/giKd3v-6

Lando and Oscar’s race to win at the Bahrain GP officially kicked off the 2024 Formula 1 season for McLaren Racing over the weekend. This year’s expansion of DP World’s partnership with McLaren sees us take a new branding position on the MCL38’s dynamic digital panels, and is a testament to the importance of working together. Navigating the increasingly dynamic logistics landscape relies on collaborative relationships across different sectors. Here’s what I mean by that: 1. Enhanced resilience: Sharing resources, expertise, and best practices that significantly bolster resilience against unforeseen challenges. 2. Enabling new thinking: Cross-sector partnerships foster creativity and breed innovation, driving groundbreaking solutions to complex supply chain problems. 3. Optimised costs: Shared infrastructure, transportation networks, and distribution channels streamline operations and lead to significant cost savings. By increasing purchasing power and market access, we can drive down costs for all partners involved. 4. Expanding market access: By using each other's networks and distribution channels, we promote growth and greater market reach for our customers 5. Addressing sustainability challenges: By aligning on how we produce, optimise, and incentivise sustainable alternatives, we can minimise our shared carbon footprints, foster responsible sourcing practices, and create a positive impact on society. Congratulations to Lando and Oscar on a great first race of the season and to McLaren for a strong overall performance in Bahrain. I’m excited to see what the next few circuits have in store for the team and look forward to what is promising to be a great year.

https://lnkd.in/eJStJRNn Let's talk about something, Mercedes has not long officially confirmed their line-up for 2025. George Russell 🇬🇧 and Andrea Kimi Antonelli 🇮🇹 But not one is talking about 2026... Even though we have 2025 to soak up first, the 2026 driver market is also a key consideration for teams going forward, especially when it comes to the new 2026 regulations 🔧 And with Mercedes, no driver is officially signed on for the 2026 season, which comes with questions. ❓❓ But what question has to be identified is George Russell's future at Mercedes? Why? Why not Antonelli? 🤔 Andrea Kimi Antonelli represents a new generation of Formula 1 with Mercedes and Toto Wolff adamant about putting the 18-year-old in one of Formula 1's most coveted seats, the Italian driver may continue with the Brackley-based team while keeping his eye out on one driver who is taking an interest! 😲 But who is this driver that Toto Wolff has an interest in? And is this driver the reason why George Russell's future could be under threat? 😱 Find out who this potential could be below! 👇 If you enjoy my content, please like, and comment with your thoughts and opinions. In the 1950s, Formula 1 pit stops were a completely different game. It took almost 67 seconds – more than a minute that felt like an eternity compared to today's numbers. Compare above number to Red Bull's F1 team pit stop performance during the 2013 USA Grand Prix. They changed all four tires in a jaw-dropping 1.92 seconds! Under 2 second!!! Formula 1 is not just a race for the fastest cars; it's about pursuit of technological dominance and efficient business processes. It's all about meticulous planning – a strict no-multitasking policy, where every team member focuses on one task. Competitive advantage is not only about latest technology, you also have to have matching business processes.

Unveiling the Logistics Powering #F1 Have you ever wondered how a multi-ton race car magically appears across the globe every other weekend, ready to compete at breakneck speeds? The answer lies in the meticulously planned world of sports logistics, and #Formula1 takes the cake! Imagine this: 24 races across 5 continents, with 20 drivers battling it out on tracks spanning from bustling metropolises to hot deserts. Each Formula 1 team brings an arsenal of equipment – from the mighty race cars themselves (weighing an average of 750 kg!) to intricate spare parts and cutting-edge tools. The challenge? To transport over 1,500 tons of equipment flawlessly, meeting tight deadlines and ensuring everything arrives in pristine condition. This is where the true magic happens. F1 relies on a well-oiled logistics machine, often in partnership with a global logistics giant (like DHL). This partnership is crucial for meticulous planning, packing, and shipping equipment across continents via air, sea, and land. But F1 isn't the only sporting spectacle that relies on complex logistics. Every sport, from the delicate bikes of the #TourdeFrance to the team equipment of the #NBA, has its logistical hurdles. The next time you witness the roar of an F1 engine or the buzzer-beater of a basketball game, remember the invisible army of logistics professionals ensuring a smooth operation behind the scenes. Precision, planning, and a dash of adrenaline – that's the winning formula for sports #logistics! Quick Question: What aspect of sports logistics amazes you the most?

Storytime of how I fell in love with logistics: My passion for #logistics may seem like an unexpected turn, but it all started with my love for #FormulaOne. The adrenaline rush, the roar of the engines, the strategic brilliance of the teams – I was captivated by the world of #motorsport. But as I delved deeper into the sport, I realized that there was more to it than just the drivers and cars. There was an intricate ballet of logistics happening behind the scenes, making the whole spectacle possible. One day, while exploring the #F1 website, I stumbled upon a video titled "Building the greatest racing spectacle on the planet" by Formula One and DHL. This video opened my eyes to the immense logistical challenge of moving an entire Formula One circus around the world. I was mesmerized by the coordination, precision, and sheer scale of the operation. The video showcased the intricate process of transporting cars, equipment, and personnel across continents, setting up temporary circuits, and ensuring everything was in place for each race. It was like a giant puzzle being assembled with remarkable efficiency. I was particularly fascinated by the role of DHL, the official logistics partner of Formula One, in orchestrating this complex dance. As I watched the video, I realized that logistics was not just about moving things from point A to point B; it was about connecting the world, enabling events, and making the impossible possible. I was captivated by the challenge, the creativity, and the impact that logistics had on our lives. So yeah, thanks Formula 1 and DHL 🏎 🌍 Video: https://lnkd.in/eqp4vF-W
