📝 The Ministry of Education (MoE) released a draft of management regulations for after-school tutoring (AST) 校外培训管理条例 （征求意见稿）on February 8, seeking public opinion. 📈 The majority of the draft aligns with existing "Double Reduction" 双减 rules from July 2021, but emphasizes encouraging non-academic AST providers and addressing AST demands. 💡 No significant changes are anticipated in the regulations governing K-9 academic AST. 💼 Major players like EDU and TAL stand to benefit from potential support for non-academic AST, catering to parents' needs. 💰 High-school AST, constituting 25% of EDU's revenue and 19% of TAL's revenue in F24, could see expansion with reduced regulatory concerns. 🎯 Leading companies like EDU and TAL are expected to capitalize on sustained demand for non-academic AST and educational technology. 🚀 The release of the draft seeking feedback could alleviate investor worries about regulatory uncertainties. 🔍 Investors may find reassurance in a more predictable regulatory environment, potentially boosting confidence in education sector investments.

This is another very bullish sign for the future of China gaming industry regulations. The crackdown on the private education industry in China long before the current gaming imbroglio was an order of magnitude more devastating in social, cultural, and economic effect. I have friends who lost their livelihoods and hukou / visas due to these regulations. Bringing sensible regulatory predictability to these markets will be of massive benefit to investor sentiment and more importantly to the Chinese people and their connections with the international community. We know that UK #university league tables have different areas of focus, but how different are the results they produce? The latest #highereducation #dashboard from UniViz compares the three major UK league tables and shows just how different they can be. Although there is broad agreement over the top 10, after this there are some huge swings – Bolton could appear 30th or 120th depending on where a potential #student looks.
