Let's Pico! Why not try this kidney-friendly, quick and easy Pico de Salsa, made with only 7 ingredients. Check out the recipe below. Kidney-friendly recipe provided by DNA's Nutrition Department. PICO DE GALLO 1 onion, medium, chopped 1 green onion, chopped 1 red bell pepper, medium, chopped 1 Roma tomato, chopped 1/2 (or more) fresh jalapeño, seeded, chopped 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced 1/8 teaspoon black pepper Fresh lime (optional) Mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Add juice from ½ of a fresh lime before serving. Enjoy!

More Helpful Foods⬇️ Remember, the goal here is to be as least hungry as we can be. Not saying you will never experience hunger, that is a normal part of being in a calorie deficit, but it shouldn’t be all the time. Again we can use food volume, high fiber foods, and high protein foods to help with this. Also, generally these foods will be more micronutrient dense, which is something we want to pay attention to on a diet for the sake of your overall health. MORE HELPFUL FOODS⬇️ -pork loin chops -lean cuts of steak -baked tilapia -baked cod -not fried catfish -90/10 or leaner ground meats -melons (really any kind) Cottage cheese -veggies -potatoes that are just cut up and seasoned (watch the oils, butters, sour creams, etc.) -protein powders are good on a pinch (these aren’t very filling, but high protein is still good on a diet) Also, I’m not a chef, nor do I claim to be…. But there are creators like @theflexibledietinglifestyle who specialize in low calorie recipes if you want to cook/bake more.
