Great to see so many firms rolling out GenAI training for their summers, lawyers, and professional staff, as every role and function at a firm has unique use cases and opportunities (as well as risks and considerations to be aware of). Since Hotshot Inc. launched its AI topic and GenAI Fundamentals for Lawyers certificate/CLE program interest has been through the roof - and what's really great is that interest is also from firms (as well as companies and law schools) that haven't yet rolled out GenAI but they see how important it is for everyone to have a foundational understanding of the tech and related issues. Let us know if we can help/if your firm would like to take a test drive of the content. https://bit.ly/44dYwbe

An interesting trend we're seeing re GenAI training at law firms - firms that have/are using a GenAI tool are requiring lawyers and staff to go through some sort of GenAI fundamentals training (and in many cases, the Hotshot Inc. Gen AI Fundamentals certificate and CLE program linked to below - but there are others of course) before they're given access to the specific tools - and obviously there is also training on the specific tool being used - all of this is in line with the new ABA ethics opinion on GenAI use. We just saw one Am Law firm have close to 300 GenAI learning track completions in a very short time - which is so great to see. And even firms that aren't yet using GenAI are rolling out foundational GenAI training, which makes sense - we all need to be familiar with the technology and the related issues. Are others seeing this happening? https://bit.ly/44dYwbe

Law Firms are starting to incorporate AI into summer training programs, will this be the new standard? 🤔 Big law firms like K&L Gates, Orrick, and Dechert are now incorporating generative AI into their summer associate training programs. This integration signals a shift toward embracing technology to enhance legal practice. In light of recent events, such as ChatGPT being temporarily down, professionals are increasingly aware of the impact of AI in their work. K&L Gates’ decision to integrate AI programs into their summer training is a strategic move. While the program is currently in an experimentation phase, the potential time savings are undeniable once it’s fully executed. Associates will need to learn how to effectively use these AI tools, which can ultimately free up lawyers’ time for more complex legal work. By adopting AI technology, firms position themselves for a competitive advantage. However, successful implementation requires careful consideration and training. The legal industry stands at the cusp of a transformative shift, and the firms that navigate this transition effectively can reap significant benefits.
