A group of employees from our Toronto office recently had the opportunity to volunteer with Make-A-Wish Canada at the 2024 Toronto Honda Indy, a word-class motorsports festival which takes place annually on the streets surrounding Exhibition Place. Our team spent the day bringing the energy while helping to collect donations and supporting various activities like the Make-A-Wish Zone photo area and selling of 50/50 tickets. It's an honour to support such a meaningful cause!✨ #WeAreAltus #TheAltusExperience #CommunityImpact

It's inspiring to witness athletes like #CameronNorrie leading the charge in addressing climate change, ensuring the sustainability of sports in the face of environmental challenges. Additionally, the transition of sports grounds towards implementing carbon sink practices marks a positive shift, demonstrating proactive efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental stewardship. Furthermore, there's an exciting opportunity for corporate sponsorship to align with sustainability goals by supporting sporting initiatives that remove CO2e emissions and provide biodiversity gain associated with sports events. This not only benefits the environment but also enhances the reputation of both the corporations and the sports organizations involved, setting a commendable example for other industries to follow suit in combatting climate change.
🎾ICYMI: 5x ATP Tour Titleist, Cameron Norrie, has offset all 28 tournament trips in 2023 🗣️ “I try my best now to reduce my carbon footprint where I can, from cycling everywhere to taking the train when possible” he says 🏆 Norrie finished third on the Carbon Tracker leaderboard and donated $20,000 to Sported, a charity for sustainability initiatives at grassroots clubs and other young communities in the UK 🔖 Read: : https://lnkd.in/erd7GZNb #sportpositive #greensports #sportsforclimateaction #ATPTour #tennis

Let’s "KICKOUT" the stigma. The stigma associated with ill mental health remains a significant barrier for many. The reality is that stigma can be incredibly damaging. It can prevent people from seeking support and can lead to warped misconceptions of mental illness. At a time when our mental health services are failing (largely because of chronic underfunding and a lack of qualified personnel), it’s more important than ever that we seek to eliminate the stigma that still shrouds mental health. Did you know: - Over half (51%) of the UK population associates shame with ill mental health. - Over half (56%) of individuals experiencing ill mental health still feel ashamed. - More than 1 in 10 people believe that individuals living with mental illness should be ashamed of their mental health. Let’s change that narrative. Sharing to my network for visibility. Link to donate: https://lnkd.in/eHaQp44v Statistics: https://lnkd.in/ejDfZwFr
A rare LinkedIn post from me, but for a worthy cause so here we go! In 2023 myself and my good friend Liam started a new project, Game of 2 Halves. In the outset, this was a Football themed Podcast released on social platforms once a week. Whilst the content is still the heartbeat of this project, we will always endeavour to expand into all different channels in hopes of building a community and being able to give-back by doing this. This led to us preparing to host our first event: 'KICKOUT THE STIGMA' A Charity Football Tournament hosted by us @ Pro Football Arena in which all of the proceeds will be donated to Mind . The event will be taking place Sunday August 4th and we have collated a range of local teams to come and enjoy some Pre-Season football whilst also raising as much money as we can for Charity. If you would like to help us out by sharing or donating to the cause we would greatly appreciate any support! https://lnkd.in/eHaQp44v https://lnkd.in/etKsEq8d Also please feel free to check out our social media channels if you would like and any other future events like this we do will be posted about on there also! Thanks

Good Works
It’s been a week and we’re not done yet. We’re usually head down, tail up as it were, doing what we do. Anything else is money / effort is wasted in helping those who come to us. But sometimes we’re need a lifter; a reminder…. So on Monday #federalgolfclub hosted the 2nd #sleepingrough golf tournament. Federal’s Golf Pro #mattmillar had brought it all together these past months. 140 played and over 160 attended the fundraising auction…. We also showed a video of Matt experiencing some of our front line services a few weeks back. A 20 hour day for some of my team and others at Vinnies, but to know the room was full of people, gave us a rare lift in person on behalf of all of us. Thank you.💕

Head Of Marketing at Durham University; building global reputation and recruiting the best students, researchers and academics from around the world
Changing marketing tactics and shaking things up at The Great Run Company. This is the first time I have seen a major race open their ballot before the current year's event has ran. It's a bold move - and I like it. Here's why: 😎 Innovation is key: it's good to try new things - it gives the opportunity to test, learn and improve. 😍 Emotional investment: opening the ballot BEFORE this year's race allows people to invest even more emotionally, imagining themselves - quite literally - in the shoes of those braving 13.1 miles, as the 2024 event unfolds. 🏃♂️Closing the gap: no more waiting to sign up. Excitement is captured at its peak, closing the gap between desire and action. 📣 Hype hype and more hype. Does the GNR need more people entering? Maybe not. Does it need to continue to raise it's brand profile, attract top-tier sponsorship and drive increased philanthropic giving for the causes it supports? Absolutely. 📏 Data-driven decisions. The effects of other initiatives and attribution aside, this change can be measured, analysed and impact demonstrated. 😁 It makes people happy! Give the people what they want! Customer-centricity at its best. I for one am here for the change, and yes - although I've yet to run this year's distance, I have already signed up for my chance to be there again in 2025. Hope to see you there! 🥇
The September Ballot is now OPEN!🎉 This is your chance to secure your place on the AJ Bell #GreatNorthRun start line on Sunday 7th September 2025. 🏃 All the info you need 👇 📅 September Ballot closes on Friday 13th September 2024 at 12pm. 📧 You’ll receive your results by 18th September. If you’re successful, you’ll be all set for the 2025 event. Don't make it through the September Ballot? Don't worry—you’ll have another chance in the January ballot or by securing a charity spot. 🙌 Enter the ballot now and good luck! 👇 https://lnkd.in/efwZ2fm7 #HalfMarathon #Running #Events #Ballot #MassParticipation #InspiredByGreatness

This is the best event for team-building. Whether you are a small or large business, organization, a group of ladies who do book club, church groups, public safety, or high school teams, you name it, this event will bring you closer together AND raises money for a GREAT cause. So what are you talking about Craig!?!? It's the 2024 #PlanePullChallenge to benefit Special Olympics Indiana, happening on SATURDAY August 10th. So what is the Plane Pull Challenge? I am glad you asked. 😉 Are you strong enough to take on an 82-ton Boeing 757 jetliner in a massive game of tug-of-war? Take the Plane Pull® Challenge and find out! Special Olympics Indiana's largest single-day fundraiser offers a unique opportunity for your team of up to 15 people to compete against others to determine who will be the fastest to pull the 82-ton aircraft down a 12-foot track. The fastest team in each division will receive an award. The Plane Pull Challenge also features a festival-like atmosphere. The Indianapolis International Airport postal hub will be transformed with live music, food, souvenirs, games, and other activities throughout the day. THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND! Each team of 15 is asked to raise at least $1,200 in pledges (an average of less than $100 per person). Further instructions are in the link below. Donations can be made online, easily, safely, and securely. All donations will automatically be added to your team total. Then, keep an eye on the leaderboard as prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers. All funds raised through the Plane Pull Challenge support our more than 19,000 athletes as well as our organization’s efforts to end discrimination and empower people with intellectual disabilities across the state of Indiana. *EVENT SPONSORSHIPS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!! Please DM me if interested. To find out more, register a team, &/or make a donation, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gDmpzj8b (If you have sponsored/participated previously in the event, could you reply with how many years and what it means to your group.)
