👷♀️Women in Construction Week👷♀️celebrates the contributions and achievements of women in the construction industry, highlighting their vital roles in shaping infrastructure and communities. 𝗛𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬: The history of Women in Construction Week is intertwined with the origins of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Founded in 1953 as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, by 16 women in the industry, it aimed to support women in construction. Evolving into NAWIC, the association now boasts 115 chapters nationwide, offering education, support, and networking opportunities for women in construction. Women in Construction Week, established in 1960, celebrates the contributions of women in the field and promotes awareness and inclusivity. NAWIC's efforts have helped reduce stigma, narrow the gender pay gap, and foster international connections with countries sharing similar goals of empowering women in construction. #womeninengineering #womeninconstruction #geotechnicalengineering
