The #OlympicGames are in full swing in #Paris, the fun is delightful despite a few highly emphasized wrinkles and hiccups. The Olympic Village is getting a lot of notice in the American Press, notably all the shortcomings and aggressive eco measures are getting blown out of proportion, so we decided on producing a subset of Olympic Posters highlighting The Olympic Village Life. We already uploaded one poster at our Paris Olympics Revue Part II depicting a single cardboard bed and electric fan cooling. We also produced a new poster showing off the Arcade Hall, how it could have been styled while keeping with a few touches showcased during the Tokyo 2020 Games. Spending more than you have budgeted for has become the norm for #Olympics host cities. #Paris2024 is actually not the worst of the bunch (as of current estimates) despite an overrun of more than 100 percent landing it at a cost of $8.7 billion for hosting the Games (excluding investments in urban and transportation infrastructure). This is easily topped by Barcelona, which ran 266 percent over cost in 1992 and Rio de Janeiro in 2016, which was a whopping 352 percent over budget. Winter Games can also be more costly than expected, for example in the Russian town of Sochi in 2014, where the event was 289 percent more expensive than expected at a record-breaking 28.9 billion, or in Norway's Lillehammer in 1994, there a 277 percent overrun occurred (but the total cost was still nowhere near as high). https://lnkd.in/eZYVNk4j

According to the organisers, the summer games in Paris in 2024 are expected to be extraordinary, attracting the highest number of spectators ever. Some 10 500 athletes will perform for 10 million ticket holders, 8 million of which are sold to the public. France is a low-travel-risk location with excellent medical care. Prices hike in France: As of March 31st, the number of active listings in the Paris region have increased by 40%, boosting availability for guests. Nights booked in the Paris region for stays during the dates of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 are over five times (400%) higher than they were the same time a year ago (as of March 31st). Smaller towns and neighborhoods outside central Paris like Saint Denis, Chateauroux, and Lille have also seen a significant rise in interest thanks to the decision to host Paris 2024 throughout France. #parisolympics2024
