Supporting female pilots is incredibly close to my heart. As a mother of two girls, I deeply understand the importance of empowering young women and providing them with the opportunities to chase their dreams without limitations. In India, societal norms and family expectations often pose significant challenges, deterring many young women from pursuing careers in aviation. Issues such as family responsibilities, safety concerns, and societal biases can discourage talented young women from entering this field. By raising awareness and actively supporting female pilots, we can break down these barriers and create a more inclusive industry. My commitment to this cause reflects a broader vision to foster diversity and inclusion within aviation. It’s not just about providing training but also about creating an environment where female pilots are encouraged and supported to excel. Through initiatives like ours at Wind Chasers, we aim to inspire and support young women in overcoming societal and familial obstacles, ensuring they have the resources and confidence to succeed. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and open doors for future generations of female pilots. Join us in this mission and help us pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future in aviation. #SupportFemalePilots #WomenInAviation #AviationDiversity #EmpowerWomen #FuturePilots #BreakingBarriers #AviationLife #FlyHigh #InclusionMatters #GirlsInAviation #WomenEmpowerment #WindChasers

Today we’re celebrating both International Women's Day 2024 and Women in Aviation Week! It’s a chance to celebrate our female colleagues and women within the aviation industry from pilots to first officers, cabin crew to ground staff, maintenance engineers and the many other valuable roles that make up our industry. Whilst female pilots are on the rise across the globe, they’re still an incredibly small number in comparison to the male population. Studies show that the main deterrents for young girls and women considering careers in aviation are a lack of mentorship, visibility of role models, associated costs, and exclusionary policies, amongst other factors. At Symbiotics, we’re proud to have a team of fantastic women who are helping to lead the way in providing assessment and selection, training and consultancy services in over 130 locations worldwide. We're also proud members of Women in Aviation International. Today, let’s continue to #flyitforward across borders to remember the past, celebrate the present and shape the future of the aviation industry. #iwoaw #womenofavitionweek #woaw24 #inspireinclusion

WOMEN LEADING AVIATION & TRANSPORTATION Women have been the force behind some of the most groundbreaking innovations. They’ve reshaped industries, defied expectations, and led the way toward a more inclusive and sustainable future. Here’s how these pioneering women leaders have inspired progress in the aviation and transportation sectors: - Amelia Earhart: The first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. Amelia inspired generations of women to pursue their dreams in aviation. - Bessie Coleman: The first African-American woman pilot. Known for her aerial acrobatics, Bessie broke down racial barriers and paved the way for others in aviation. - Jacqueline Cochran: The first woman to break the sound barrier and founder of WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots), showing that women belong in every aspect of aviation. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh: The first licensed female glider pilot in the U.S. and author, connecting the world to the beauty of aviation through her writings. - Yolanda Kakabadse: Former Minister of Environment in Ecuador, advocating for integrating sustainability in transportation policies globally. - Mary Barra: CEO of General Motors, leading the charge for electric vehicles and diversity in the automotive industry. These extraordinary women are not just icons; they represent the powerful role that women continue to play in shaping the future of aviation, transportation, and sustainability. Let’s celebrate their achievements and raise awareness of how they’ve opened doors for the next generation of women leaders in STEM. #WomenInAviation #WomenInTech #Innovation #Sustainability #Leadership #WomenInSTEM

🌟 Celebrating International Women’s Day in Aviation! 🛫 My daughter has begun asking hundreds of questions every day, 🫡🫡🫡 many of them about my job, what I do, how I assist pilots, and whether she can also become a pilot or a “psychologist for pilots” one day. 👩🏼✈️👩🏼🏫✈️ I always respond with an enthusiastic “absolutely!” However, I recognise that for many women, it is not so obvious to consider working in this field. 🤷🏼♀️ This realization fills me with immense pride as a #womaninaviation industry. On this International Women’s Day, I want to highlight the incredible contributions of women who propel the advancement of aviation daily.🏆 Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable achievements of women in aviation. From #pilots shattering barriers in the cockpit to #engineers crafting innovative aircraft, women have been at the forefront of driving progress and innovation in the industry. As a woman in aviation myself, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges and opportunities that accompany being a minority in a male-dominated field. Yet, I’ve also witnessed the unwavering support and camaraderie among female colleagues, who inspire and empower each other to soar to new heights. Today, let’s applaud the accomplishments of women in aviation and persist in advocating for #genderequality in the industry (that means that if you have right competencies and traits -suitable for the role -you can start doing it, regardless the gender!). Together, we can cultivate a more inclusive and diverse aviation sector for future generations of women to thrive in—one that I hope my daughter will be proud of. Happy International Women’s Day!🌷🌷 #WomenInAviation #IWD2024 #GenderEquality #AviationDiversity

In celebration of Women's History Month, Aireon would like to honor the achievements of some of the great women at Aireon and ask them about their experience working in aviation, a primarily male-dominated industry. Janessa Vankauwenberg, Test Engineering Specialist at Aireon, had this advice to share with other women who are pursuing a career in aviation: "To any woman looking to break into the aviation industry, it's important to recognize both the challenges and the opportunities. Aviation has been a male dominated field, but this is changing. Personally, I didn't fully anticipate this upon entering the field, but in hindsight, the sooner you grasp this reality, the greater your potential impact. I believe the industry values diverse perspectives because it leads to smarter, safer, and more innovative ideas. Believe in the impact you make; your efforts may inspire others and the aviation world needs this now more than ever." Did you know that women make up just 6.4% of the global aviation industry? This statistic reflects the incredible journey we still have to ensure gender diversity and inclusion within the sector. I am a proud member of Women in Aviation, a global organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. Our mission is not just about celebrating achievements; it's about breaking down barriers and opening doors for future generations. My aviation journey was fueled by a childhood dream to become a fast jet pilot. Despite being told repeatedly by teachers that this wasn't a career for a young lady, my stubbornness pushed me to pass the entrance exams to become a pilot with the British military. However, due to personal medical reasons, I discovered that I couldn't pursue a career as a fighter pilot. At that point, the idea of becoming a commercial pilot seemed distant, as I had never encountered a female first officer or captain. To this day, I have yet to fly with a female colleague on the flight deck. It's an honour and a privilege to work for Padpilot, where 50% of our talented workforce are women. This is more than just a statistic; it's a statement of our commitment to change. At Padpilot, we're not just educating the next generation of pilots; we're helping to shape a more inclusive and diverse future for aviation, where anyone, regardless of their background, can achieve their dreams. Let's continue to support and inspire one another, and work towards a future where gender diversity in aviation is not an anomaly but a norm. #Padpilot #DiversityinAviation #InspiringTheNextGeneration #WomeninAviationDay2024

We had an insightful Women Behind the Drone Revolution Panel at Amsterdam Drone Week. Time flet that time flew by as we came to the end. Here are some key takeaways from our panelists: 🌟Quotas are not the solution, if someome decides in favor however shooed be implemented at every level of the organization 🌟Recruitment is key: the right wording in adverts and role models in companies can result in female applicants. Also, recruitment efforts should be more than just an advert if there are not enough applicants, more engagements and activities should take place ⭐️Recruitment resources and efforts pay back. A diverse workforce creates business growth. ⭐️Speaking up for certain topics is difficult, so organizations should make sure processes are not only created but also implemented well for a safe place. ⭐️Role models are equally important: females and males. ⭐️Females in leadership positions should be an active part of shaping the industry. ⭐️Not only engineers but females from all backgrounds have a place in the drone industry. ⭐️Careers can be built by passion and curiosity we have real examples. ⭐️Females should be more self-confident in certain topics Let's strive for a more inclusive and diverse drone industry. #WomenInTech #Diversity #Inclusion #DroneIndustry Samantha Brindle Juliana Carolina Kiraly Thomaz Rodrigues Sabrina Kerber Petra Syaifoel-Gerse Amsterdam Drone Week
