I Help Organisations Engage GenZ in Careers | Director at Authentic Engagement | Conference and CPD Workshop Facilitator
Here's how you can increase employer engagement for your school's career activities. You see, last week at Greater London Authority's Enterprise Coordinator Day I had a little rant... Why do we ask Business to attend careers fairs as if they're doing us a favour? We need to be clearer about the business 'value' of engaging with young people's careers. What are you doing to encourage business engagement at your school? #authenticengagement #employerengagement #careerfair #ncw2024

We're looking forward to meeting lots of students and graduates on campus next month! Careers fairs can feel a bit daunting, so here are some top tips; 👩🎓 Introduce yourself! It's really helpful for us to know what you're studying and how far through your degree you are so that we can give you the best advice. 🚦 What is important to you? Is it training and development? Is it the size of the early careers cohort? Is it the support you'll receive in your first 6 months? Use this to shape your questions as you may have limited time to talk a representative on the stand. ⭐Employers generally can't accept CV's at fairs, but it's a great way to pick up some advice on the application process and how to make your application stand out. Take a look at our new Early Careers site below for some info before you come and chat to us. https://lnkd.in/eEk_K3ht #AECOM #infrastructure #earlycareers

Thanks to Aldenham School for asking me to exhibit at their careers fair today. I was amazed by the interest and inquisitive questions posed by the students, and its certainly made me want to inspire more young people who, hopefully, will enter a superb profession in the not too distant future. We need more young advisers coming into the industry, so fingers crossed I managed to make an impression on a small number of intelligent, young people. Ps - when did I get to the point where it seems appropriate to refer to students as ‘young people’?! #wealthmanagement #careers #financialplanning #islinwm

Ally Behavior Centers shared a great strategy at the university career fair: Instead of applying to countless jobs randomly, focus on companies you genuinely want to work for. By connecting with alumni on LinkedIn and your university’s alumni portal, you can learn more about the company culture and the role you're interested in. These connections can help you get in touch with hiring managers, giving your resume a better chance of being reviewed by decision-makers, rather than just being filtered through an online portal.
