"R.I.P (REST IN PEACE) LOVE" BY MATT-Q https://lnkd.in/g5qhaViP There is a proper place for SELF LOVE and SELF CARE. But, the danger is we may mix up feeling good for the moment with what is objectively good over the long term. Self love taken to the extreme, leads to a warped sense of entitlement and because we think only of ourselves, feel entitled and do what it takes to get what we want, even if it means destroying the binds that bound. It also mars our discernment and objectivity. Just because someone is able to give us what we want to hear or feel for the moment does not necessarily mean that it is going to be really helpful for us in the long run. What we need is long term foundational stability, but we miss the point when we go for some magic pill thinking that will help us get where we want overnight, which, unfortunately, is exactly is going to cause long term pain. The growth of plants under the watchful eyes of meticulous farmers. before blooming and harvesting, already shows how dangerous it is to take shortcuts at the expense of vital foundations set first, tedious as they may seem initially. Just because we have to take bitter medicine for our ailments does not mean the medicine is bad, but it actually helps our bodies recover. The athletes who train for the Olympics, even with the best motivational coaches, have to undergo a period of super tough conditioning where it may seem super low morale, and they they doubt whether they're making any progress initially. But one day, when that breakthrough comes through if they have given the painful discipline a chance, all that pain and initial confusion will make sense and not matter anymore in the light of what one has won. We need to adopt an objective criteria of what is really good for us and be careful we are not easily swept by sentiments and pressure from others, but are able to discern and CROSS REFERENCE the reliability and test the credibility of any Source we come across. If we fail to give the space, time and perceive the INTENT, it can lead to a witch hunt on someone who actually sees the dangers of shortcuts and has seen many through the process of avoiding such pitfalls. Once that step is taken, words are said, actions are taken, it is hard to retrieve relational trust that has been shattered, especially if one only has one side of the story. By then, it would almost be impossible to have relationships built on mutual trust and respect, because when there has been an intentional attack on the person and their identity, especially when the object of our enmity was never our foe and never sabotaged us, but was actively seeking for our welfare. #faouzia #riplovefaouzia #iamasinger #matthewqueksingapore #shortermgains #longtermgood #livingbysentiment #discplineispainful #bountifulharvest © Matthew Quek

Well said. There aren’t enough certifications for some of us professionals to be recognized as experts in our chosen fields of work. It is always something that’s missing, lacking or not enough. Some get there with different types of qualifications and some with privilege. In the end some struggle more than others, and it all has a price. Money definitely pays for the necessities and the niceties of life, and those lovely luxuries - but money doesn’t necessarily feed the soul or make one genuinely happy. Love is what makes one genuinely happy. When you are loved, and love others, that brings happiness to many. Great advice to: Live your genuine life, and love yourself first. Then share your love. #LoveYourselfFirst

The true meaning of Christmas is love, joy, and peace. But too often these values are forgotten as the year goes on. If we make an effort to live with compassion and goodwill towards others each day, as the spirit of Christmas intends, we can help actualize the hope for peace on Earth.
