It didn't take long to figure out we had a mindset problem after taking over Framingham lacrosse in 2020. Looking at the results, we turned a team struggling to win 3 or more games for 6+ seasons into a team with 3 straight postseason appearances. We are currently ranked #16 with an opportunity to host a playoff game - something Framingham hasn't done in 10 years. But my mentor Pete Bidstrup reminds me the less we focus on the result, the better we perform, the better the results (sweet irony!). Focus on being present - be aware that emotion is the enemy to performance - shift the focus from being the best to being the best version of yourself. Our entire team wears Coach Bidstrup's Human Reset bracelets - with a little button on it - no matter what is going on we can press the reset button and come back to the present moment. Detachment from the result is the superpower of elite teams... Yes, it is easier said than done! ... but in the end, it all comes down to our mentality... Meet Coach Baldwin from Aliso Niguel High School Flag Football. A week ago, I randomly walked onto the campus and ran into their staff and parent liaison. They were about to pay a high fee + percentage to another vendor and I mentioned what we do. IT is the WHY of what we do that pulled them in and caused their minds to pause and reflect. Yes, we help teams keep all that they raise through a unique model... But it is the impact of what this can do for days/months/years for a team. More and more programs are tired of giving away too huge of a split that their kids help to raise...
