Tune in to the Green Light podcast featuring our EVP and GM, Federal & Utility Solutions, Nicole Bulgarino, as she discusses our work with the DoD and how the IRA has impacted clean energy investment. ⬇
Did you know the U.S. Army has 950+ renewable energy projects that supply it with 480+ MW of power, & plans to add 25 new microgrids by 2024? The Department of Defense is one of the largest consumers of energy in the U.S., & for over a decade, Ameresco has been enabling the DoD to decarbonize & transition to renewable energy. Nicole Bulgarino at Ameresco has personally overseen the development & implementation of over $3B of sustainable solutions in federal & government energy projects. I spoke with Nicole about this & Ameresco’s recent military projects in California, & in Hawaii in partnership with the Navy, Hawaiian Electric & the local community. We also spoke about how the IRA has catalyzed the Government Services Administration to commit to investments in new technologies to reduce energy consumption & costs, including at 10 buildings in the southern U.S. Listen to the full Green Light episode:

🌀'A lot of big mouths but little action’ pushing wind turbine makers into the red''🔥_(Joe Kaeser - Siemens Energy)
👌 According to a report from the International Energy Agency and the World Bank (1), approximately 567 million people in sub-Saharan Africa did not have access to electricity in 2021, representing more than 80% of the world's population. devoid of access. The report also indicates that the lack of access in the Region remained almost identical to the situation observed in 2010, when during the same period more than a billion people gained access to electricity across the world.
👌 This situation undeniably constitutes a brake on the economic development of countries, like a nation like Nigeria, where around 90 million people do not have access to electricity and which still cannot fully exploit its demographic potential due to lack of energy.
👌 In this context, telling Africa, which holds around 8% of oil reserves and a little less than 9% of natural gas reserves, that it must do without its resources, can legitimately provoke a feeling of injustice. Especially when Africans see that the “lesson givers” have recently increased their demand for fossil energy when they were faced with an energy crisis.
| Funding that does not arrive despite promises...|
👉 Although we recall in forums and various reports that Africa has extraordinary renewable potential to ensure its energy transition, the financing to develop this potential is still not up to par.(2)
👉 The cumulative sum of investments in renewable energy in Africa over the past two decades represents only 2% of global financing. Clean energy investments in Africa also remain concentrated in a few key markets.
👉 Furthermore, when investments finally arrive, it is often to finance renewable energy projects intended for export to other non-African markets, such as green hydrogen.
🤝 All these reasons explain somewhat the increasingly assumed position which consists of saying no to a transition imposed to satisfy an agenda which is not adapted and which does not take into consideration all african realities.

Well here is a story I didn’t expect to read this morning, and will definitely get some people in the #renewableenergy world talking. In an interview with The TelegraphJoe Kaeser said some pretty interesting comments about the #netzero world we live in. As a reminder, Siemens is one of the largest #windturbine manufacturers in the world, so their view on this space holds a lot of weight. One comment I will focus on is the following - “If you want to have cheap energy, you need to be gas fired. That’s the cheapest way, the most secure way if you calculate the whole thing, from the beginning to the end. I believe people need to become reasonable about the energy transition.”
I have been begging for this sort of commentary for ages. Reasonable, thoughtful and balanced dialogue, not “all or none” diatribes is what we need. Talk and compromise are a necessary part of evolution.

🌬️Enil Turbines are the most-Advanced and Affordable Energy Generation! 🌍
Enil Turbines, a groundbreaking innovation, are transforming the energy landscape.
📃 Here's how they work:
➡️ These turbines are strategically set up at the sides of roads with high traffic, harnessing the energy of passing vehicles.
➡️ As vehicles whiz by, the wind and kinetic energy they create force the turbines to move and generate electricity.
📃 Why Enil Turbines are the most advanced tech:
⏩They tap into a consistent and renewable energy source - traffic!
⏩ Minimal setup costs and maintenance make them an economic choice.
⏩Lower carbon footprint, contributing to a greener environment.
⏩ They seamlessly integrate into existing infrastructure.
⏩ The electricity generated can power nearby facilities and even feed back into the grid.
Enil Turbines can be deployed in a wide range of locations, maximizing their impact.
💎 Cost and Global Deployment:
🔻 Enil Turbines are cost-effective, with relatively low setup and maintenance expenses.
🔻 They're being deployed in cities worldwide, with an emphasis on busy roads and highways.
