🚨 Understanding the deployment strategies of rescEU EMT capacities: embedded, coupled, and self-sustained 🚨 Following on from our last week post, in which we took a closer look at the mode of operation of embedded capacities, today we would like to introduce the second of the three deployment strategies of our rescEU EMT capacities: coupled deployments. 🔹 Location: Capacities that work in a coupled manner are located in close proximity to a local facility or another rescEU EMT capacity. While they are not physically integrated into a host facility, their co-location on the same deployment site ensures they are close enough to provide efficient support and cooperation. Coupled capacities provide additional space for specialised clinical care to expand the existing infrastructure’s capacity. While they are not fully integrated, they work closely with local facilities to enhance the overall treatment capabilities. 🔹 Equipment: Staff, additional space in the form of tents or containers, and the necessary equipment for specialised clinical care are provided by the supporting, coupled capacity itself. In terms of operational support services such as for example water supply or waste management, coupled capacities don’t operate fully self-sustainably. At least some of the operational support services are shared between the host and the coupled capacity. 🔹 Coordination: This configuration requires a close cooperation with the host (medical) facility but allows for flexible coordination within the supporting capacity. In our next post, we will take a closer look at the last of the three deployment strategies: self-sustained deployments! #rescEU #EMT #EUCivPro #unitedinaction

The two most underrated qualities every patient engagement professional needs? 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 & 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. ↳ Courage to speak for patients when they're not in the room. ↳ Courage to challenge outdated policies that hinder patient involvement. ↳ Resilience to keep pushing even when change is slow—and celebrate the small wins. ↳ Resilience to stand up again when "no" is the first response. These qualities are at the heart of ISPEP's mission which was recently launched by a our fearless leader Emma Sutcliffe. I told her I'M IN! Making patient engagement standard of care across the life-science industry is the only path I'm committed to. Here’s my why 👇 What's yours? #ISPEP #patientengagement #patientcentricity

I completely agree with Anne-Marie Bisson here. Courage and resilience are fundamental qualities for driving change. Patients and caregivers often make exceptional advocates because their experiences in navigating the complexities of healthcare build a unique strength and determination. They’ve fought for better treatment, care, and understanding—not only for themselves but for others who follow the same path. It’s frustrating to think that decisions are sometimes made about patients, without their involvement. This disconnect often happens because the very health challenges patients face can prevent their insights from reaching the spaces where crucial discussions are taking place. If organisations truly prioritised patient engagement and made it a cornerstone of their practice, the outcomes would be transformative. Patients bring lived experiences that enrich decision-making, create more compassionate care models, and inspire policies that reflect real-world needs. When patients are active participants in shaping the healthcare system, we all benefit from more effective treatments, improved trust, and a healthcare environment that values every voice. Prioritising patient engagement should no longer be a luxury but a necessity. Thank you Anne-Marie for raising such an important topic! #PatientEngagement #PatientAdvocacy #HealthcareTransformation #PatientsFirst #CourageAndResilience #PatientVoices
