House Republicans play with a possible government shutdown to win the fight to require voter registrants to show proof of citizenship. The bill, if passed, would fend off a shutdown of key government processes and services that could occur after September 30th — weeks before the presidential election. https://lnkd.in/gTNtdqaM If passed by the GOP-led House, the bill will likely arrive DOA (Dead on Arrival) on the Democrat-controlled Senate floor.
