The same outdated hypothesis that was used decades ago to deny infants' ability to feel pain is now being used by abortion advocates to deny preborn children's capacity for pain. Science has demonstrated that the brain does not need to be fully developed for an individual to experience pain. Many of the areas of the brain involved in the perception of pain are developed by 12 weeks' gestation. As early as 14-15 weeks' gestation, it is now standard practice to treat fetuses for pain during fetal surgery because they respond to skin-breaking procedures with the same changes in behavior, stress hormones, and metabolism as adults. April is Adenomyosis Awareness Month, shedding light on a little-known but serious uterine disorder. Some women who experience heavy periods, painful cramps, and/or discomfort during intercourse might have adenomyosis. A condition where uterine cells grow into the muscle wall. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, impacting daily life for those effected. While the exact cause remains unknown at this time, medical theories suggest it could be linked to surgery (after removing fibroids), developmental issues before birth, or post-childbirth inflammation. Diagnosis can be difficult, but imaging tests like ultrasounds or MRIs are shown to be helpful. Although adenomyosis can affect fertility, it's not a guarantee of infertility. Treatment options include medication, hormonal therapies, or even hysterectomy if symptoms are severe. If you believe you may have adenomyosis - please reach out to one of our fertility GPs and Specialists, or seek help from your own trusted health care provider. Endometrial polyps (EPs) are common during the reproductive years, occurring in up to 24% of women. EPs are often detected during the investigation of menstrual cycle disorders, or upon evaluation of an infertility case using transvaginal sonography (TVS) or hysterosalpingography (HSG). The ultrasound scans of EPs are mainly characterized by hyper- or iso-echoic mass in the uterine cavity, interruption in the continuity/displacement of the midline echo, or uneven echo displayed in the endometrium.

Approximately 25% of women will experience heavy and painful periods. The best treatments involve some type of hormonal management: oral contraceptives (OCP) depoprovera, nuvaring, IUDs with progesterone, or contraceptive patches. Also, one may also try nonsteroidals: tylenol, alleve, or motrin. A pelvic ultrasound would help determine any underlying pathology: fibroids, polyps, endometrial thickness, uterine abnormalities, and any ovarian issues. If these treatments fail, a hysteroscopy ( looking inside the uterus) and a laparoscopy (looking inside the pelvis) would help determine pathology that can be treated. When one is done with her desire for children, there are more surgical options available. Find a physician that listens to you. If patients are not satisfied with my advice, I encourage them to seek out a second opinion.

Approximately 1 in 10 women has endometriosis, yet it still takes about five to eight years to get a diagnosis! This is unacceptable for something so common. In honour of Endometriosis Awareness Month (March), we want to tell you more about this condition. What is endometriosis? It’s when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus implants outside the uterus and forms lesions, cysts, and other growths. This tissue is responsive to the hormonal changes of the menstrual cycle, so symptoms tend to be cyclical with period changes and are more intense than normal period pain or PMS. Symptoms may include chronic or cyclical pain, gastrointestinal symptoms, bladder symptoms, or infertility. There is no easy test for diagnosis, so a minimally invasive surgical procedure, called a laparoscopy, is necessary. In addition to surgery to remove the adhesions, holistic treatments can also be helpful to reduce inflammation and symptoms. As Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioners, our graduates help people identify patterns in their symptoms and support them in seeking a diagnosis, as well as coaching them through treatment options. If you have been experiencing symptoms and need support, contact one of our graduates today. You shouldn’t have to suffer any longer and we want to help! Treat the underlying cause of infertility? IVF alternative is Restorative Reproductive Medicine (RRM)
Endometriosis diagnosis in 30 minutes? The current 10 year average delay in an endo diagnosis can lead to prolonged suffering and decreased quality of life for the 10% of women who have this. I know so many who have suffered and have taught fertility awareness to many of these women, who are also experiencing infertility. Due to the invasive nature of current diagnosis (laparoscopy) and treatment, the current medical norm is to pass patients through to ARTs like IVF and treat pain with painkillers. Innovative solutions like EndoSure are changing the game by providing a quick, accurate, and non-invasive way to detect endometriosis. When tech and medicine come together, amazing things can happen. Thank you Mark Noar, MD for your work bridging the med-tech gap to bring a stellar solution to market. Get more info at endosure.com Ladies, at your next doctor's appointment ask your physician about getting screened for endometriosis with Endosure. Make sure they know about this solution. Together, we can demand a future where women no longer have to endure years of uncertainty and debilitating pain. #infertilityawareness #fertilityclinic #womenshealth #fertilityjourney #fertilityawareness
