On 3 and 4 July, we organized the fourth annual Inter-Agency Roundtable (IART) in The Hague. Agencies and bodies responsible for implementing integration policies and handling minority issues shared their experiences, knowledge and best practices on the topic of Consultative Mechanisms for the Integration of Diverse Societies. The office of the HCNM organizes the annual IART to facilitate a meaningful exchange of experiences among representatives from the relevant agencies, bodies and institutions. By sharing challenges, successes and strategies, participants are encouraged to collaborate, build partnerships and develop a professional forum for further co-operation and initiatives. To learn more about the HCNM’s approach to integration and public participation, see: https://lnkd.in/eykR4dy7 https://lnkd.in/dNivTPcc https://lnkd.in/eZjHYHpv Past events: 2021: first virtual Inter-Agency Roundtable (IART) organized to foster exchange of experiences between representatives of relevant agencies from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. 2022: second Inter-Agency Roundtable, which also included relevant counterparts from South-Eastern Europe to maximize the sharing of lessons learned and to reflect upon integration and managing diversity across the OSCE region. 2023: third IART focused on the Collection, Analysis, and Use of Data for the Integration of Diverse Societies, bringing together approximately 30 representatives from relevant institutions from across the OSCE participating States. 2024: fourth IART in 2024 on promoting the effective participation of national minorities in public life through consultative mechanisms, including specific institutions (bodies) and procedures.

Was lovely to attend the Industry Capability Network's 40th birthday celebrations last week! It was great to be able to chat with so many people about the great value of supporting our local businesses and industries. ICN plays a great role in connecting government, industry and business, creating jobs and increasing our financial and social economic prosperity. It's such a good news story and it shows the key to success is collaboration. Thank you, ICN for all you do, and thank you Ed Husic MP for speaking on the night about the value of our domestic businesses and industries. At a time when there is much scrutiny (and rightly so) over the use of consultants, it's important to understand that consultancy businesses are also an important player in our economic prosperity and that valuable consulting is undertaken everyday by businesses and individuals who give their expertise to government, and who share skills and knowledge to ensure they leave every team and every project/program better than they found them/it. In the want to condem consultants and hold government contract managers to account, let's be careful we don't destroy an industry by making an environment where SMEs can't compete. I look forward to considered conversations on the use of consultants as we move into the election.
