📣 #CySEC announces new #QST Form deadlines for #CIF & #ASP. ✅ According to CySEC Circulars C649 & C650, Administrative Service Providers (ASP) and Cyprus Investment Firms (CIF) shall meet the new requirements of the QST Forms to achieve #regulatorycompliance. 📅 Forms must be submitted via the CySEC TRS on the 29th of July and 5th of August for ASP and CIF, respectively. Not adopting the LCE audit standard in Canada is a big deal and the right one in my opinion. The AASB has issued a very good article outlining the reasons why. I am very supportive of this decision. 👏👏 Our next focus 🎯is now what can be accomplished to help auditors of less complex entities conduct effective (the right work) and efficient (the right amount of work) audits. There is a way... I know there is. ✅

The objective is to review the existing regulatory framework for MIIs comprehensively in view of the evolving capital market landscape in IFSC. Another nail in the coffin for the ISA for LCE standard, sadly. The explanation provided by the AASB sums up the challenges of an ISA for LCEs - the need to sufficiently tailor the full ISA suite to make a difference, while addressing the concern held by some that we can't have "two sets of ISAs". Although jurisdictions are resisting adoption, my experience of audit around the world suggests that a high quality solution for SME audit is much needed. If the ISA for LCE isn't that solution, then perhaps its time to consider alternatives, maybe even considering that second half of the problem around "two sets of ISAs", especially as the full ISA suite is increasingly focussed on the needs of Public Interest Entity audits.
