Accurate lifting and positioning play a pivotal role in large construction projects like bridge and highway construction endeavours. While cranes are commonly utilised, their impracticality or high cost in certain scenarios, particularly due to complex transportation logistics, prompts the exploration of alternative lifting systems. Among these alternatives are: 🟡Hydraulic Strand Jacks: These compact, easily transportable systems possess impressive lifting capabilities, effortlessly handling loads exceeding 3,000 tonnes. 🟡 Hydraulic Gantries: Utilizing four or more telescopic legs and beams, hydraulic gantries facilitate vertical lifting of heavy loads and horizontal movement along tracks when necessary. 🟡Jack-Up Systems: Employing spacers, known as "barrels," stacked together to create lifting towers, jack-up systems hoist loads in successive stages, providing mechanical support throughout the process. https://lnkd.in/gtzmr4D4 enerpac@sgmmarketing.co.za | 031-569-5514 #HydraulicFittings #Efficiency #SafetyFirst #Tools #Maintenance

This was a great project to be involved in, designing temp works for the new bridge and then full engineering for the demolition of the existing bridge including strand Jacks temp works, strengthening of existing bridge structures, stability of piers, and construction engineering for the SPMT operations thankyou John Holland for trusting CaSE (Civil and Structural Engineering) in delivering these critical works #temporaryworks #bridgeconstruction #constructioninnovation
John Holland goes in depth on its spectacular work on the Bateman's Bay Bridge replacement project, discussing the cranage, scope of work, and difficulties overcome to take out the coveted The Crane Industry Council of Australia (CICA) Project of the Year Award for 2023. The Rader High Bridge, Germany's second-longest road bridge, is being replaced and widened due to high traffic volumes. This large-scale modernization involves 18 Liebherr Group cranes, some of which are assembled in water, to aid construction. The project is occurring in two stages: the eastern half is expected to open in 2026, and the western half by 2031. Cranes like the 150 EC-B are repositioned using ferries and floating platforms, while hydraulic climbing equipment helps the cranes adjust to necessary heights. Weather conditions and strategic planning, supported by Liebherr's project department, are crucial to managing the complex assembly and operation of the cranes on site. #bridge #construction #cranes #engineering #infrastructure #civilengineering #constructionindustry #constructionequipment #bridgeconstruction #heavyequipment #productivity

Transporting long I-girders requires precision, specialized equipment, and careful route planning. Transporting large and long I-girders, typically used in bridge construction, is a complex and carefully coordinated process. These massive girders can be over 100 feet long and weigh several tons, requiring specialized equipment and logistics. Heavy-duty trailers, often with multiple axles, are used to support the girder during transportation. To ensure stability and safety, the girder is securely fastened using straps, chains, or clamps. Transport routes are meticulously planned to avoid sharp turns, low bridges, and tight spaces. In many cases, escorts or pilot cars accompany the load to manage traffic and ensure the safe passage of the oversized cargo. The process demands skilled operators and careful planning to avoid damage or accidents. video rights : Respective owners DM for removal/credits #bridge #bridgeconstruction #engineering #construction #civilengineering #civilconstruction #engenharia #engenhariacivil #engenheiro #engenheirocivil #ingeneiro #ingeneirocivil

On our site, we have a couple of key operations underway: The powerful D10 Dozer is utilizing its ripper attachment to break up hard ground and rock, ensuring the material is more manageable. Following the ripping process, the dozer efficiently pushes and stacks the loosened material into organized piles, ready for loading. Road Construction: The versatile CAT340 Excavator is diligently digging out a new road, expertly removing soil, rock, and other obstructions. Concurrently, the excavator is loading the excavated material onto trucks, facilitating its removal from the site. These coordinated efforts between the D10 Dozer and the CAT340 Excavator are integral to our project's progress, ensuring efficient and safe operations. #MovingDirt #HeavyMachinery #Construction #MachineOperators #OCON #SkilledOperators
