Light Bringer | Speaker | Burnout Recovery & Change Coach | Founder, Recharge Studio | End-of-Life Care Advocate
Today is #SuperhumanDay 🎉🎉 I want to celebrate by reminding us that healthcare heroes are not superhuman. They are very much human, and they deserve the dignity and respect afforded to all humans. The superhuman label, while well-intentioned, often puts unrealistic expectations on our healthcare professionals. They face immense pressure, long hours, and emotional strain, yet they are expected to perform flawlessly without rest or support. Let’s honor our healthcare heroes not by calling them superhuman, but by recognizing their humanity, advocating for better working conditions, and ensuring they have the resources they need to care for themselves as they care for others. Email your state’s licensure boards urging them to review and revise as needed their licensure applications, so they are free from intrusive mental health questions and stigmatizing language. https://lnkd.in/ezRE4KfK #HealthcareHeroes #MentalHealthMatters #RespectAndDignity #HumanizeHealthcare

There are key words & ways you can focus the conversation to help family & patients.
Pediatric palliative care doctor and associate professor of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital
I can’t believe it has been 5 years since I created this video! I made it in a moment of frustration about the routine stigmatization and devaluation of the field of palliative care. I never could have imagined the reception it would receive or how it would shape the next 5 years of my career in how I approach medical education and advocacy. Animation, humor, and satire can be powerful tools to educate, enlighten, and inspire. Over the last 5 years I’ve been honored to partner with amazing folks like Liz Salmi Michael Fratkin Matthew Tyler Arika P and Claire Crawford, LMSW, PhD to improve how we talk about serious illness. Outside of palliative care we talked about issues like gender bias in medicine and physician burnout. Jessi Gold helped me talk about physician mental health. Arghavan Salles and Grace Cordovano, PhD, BCPA helped demonstrate how doctors and patients are on the #SameTeam Andria Tatem and Princess Dennar partnered to create an entire spinoff channel about racism in medicine https://lnkd.in/gacUK5bN It’s been a complete honor and wild ride creating these videos over the last 5 years. So grateful to all who have partnered to create them and everyone who watched and shared when they meant something to you. If you want to see more, the whole series is available on my channel and you can subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/gvYtgnMa https://lnkd.in/gGmxfcgb

MSS | MPH | GHRU Trainee | Public Health Professional | Research Associate at BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health
A few highlights of what I have contributed..!! It's an enormous experience to provide training to all sector stakeholders including teachers, doctors, nurses, community health care providers, local government representatives, journalists, government officials, law & enforcement representatives, NGO representatives, and religious leaders. We have trained about 300 people on the significant clinical and behavioral risk factors of major Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and the general signs and symptoms of these NCDs. As well as from where people may obtain services at their doorsteps and how can they contribute to disseminating these health messages across the community as part of the 'whole-of-government, whole-of-society' approach. Our goal is to lessen the present burden on public health, which includes premature death people are going through due to heart attack and stroke with high blood glucose and high blood pressure including unhealthy lifestyles. And I am so proud of my contribution to reducing this current outbreak of public health.

VP of Finance at U.S. Chamber of Commerce | Trade Association Leader | Parent Advocate | Girl Dad | Views are my own
I'll be there. Not because I'm a clinician, researcher, attempt survivor, crisis service professional, public health or government official... But because I'm a parent, a husband, a friend, a co-worker, and a leader that might be in a position to make a difference when it matters most. And when could it matter more than when somoene's life is on the line? Because when suicide is in the top 10 causes of death for adults and the 2nd leading cause of death in our youth aged 15-24 ... we need to make a difference. And that difference starts with education and prevention. That's why I'll be there. #suidcideprevention #AAS24 #mentalhealth
Registration is officially open! Visit suicidology.org/AAS24 to register for our 57th Annual Conference in Las Vegas. The American Association of Suicidology’s (AAS) Annual Conference, held each spring, is the largest gathering of the Suicidology community; including clinicians, researchers, attempt survivors, crisis service professionals, public health and government officials and more. Will we see you there? #AAS #AAS24 #AASMakeAnImpact #suicide #suicideprevention #mentalhealth #suicidology #crisis
