I love this matrix from FW (Future Women). Many of us (myself included, when I'm in my own head) hold ourselves to a different standard than we would other colleagues, expecting perfect outcomes every time. When I make an error, the question I try to ask myself is "will this matter in 20 years' time?". Nine times out of ten it won't. It’s only been MY pleasure to lead our business for 8 of the 11 years I have been involved. Few things I have learned: • Only request of others tasks you're willing to undertake yourself. • True leaders prioritize their team's needs over their own. • Offer respect to everyone, regardless of whether they reciprocate. • Always come prepared. • Explain the purpose behind tasks, not just the tasks themselves. • Maintain an eagerness for learning throughout life. • Prioritize listening over speaking. • Sometimes, you'll need to go beyond your role without expecting rewards—such efforts often bring personal fulfillment. • Missteps aren't failures; they're chances to grow and advance. • Stay authentic to who you are and your core beliefs. Success follows when you align with organizations that share your values. • MOST IMPORTANT: Want more for others than from them! Thank you for the opportunity Mid-South, to continue to deliver a service that NO ONE wants, but at some point, EVERYONE needs.

Don’t remove the deference of a good thumb 👍. It is a thumb up 👍. It is agreeing without enforcing one’s own thinking or preference on others 👍. It is to move forward 👍. You don’t want to move forward? No worry. Take your time. You feel unsure? Communicate. Example: Boss/colleague: I need numbers of report B by noon tomorrow. You: I’m working on report A since it is due today. I want to be thorough and accurate with report B so I will need more time to work on it. I can have it for you by 8pm tomorrow. Will this work? Boss/colleahue: 👍 You: (feel uncertain what that means? Communicate/confirm). Great! I’ll have the numbers on report B for you by 8pm tomorrow. Keep things simple. #Overthinking kills. #winningmindset
