Skillings Mining Review writes about how we have secured a substantial grant of up to US$7.1 million from the State of Wyoming to advance our Cowboy State Mine at Halleck Creek. This funding aims to accelerate the development of rare earth elements (REE) projects, which are crucial for both economic growth and environmental sustainability in Wyoming. The non-dilutive funding agreement involves a strategic partnership with the Wyoming Energy Authority (WEA) and the University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council. Under the terms of the agreement, the grant is conditional upon a 1:1 match of government and private investment from ARR, ensuring a collaborative effort towards the project’s success. The report acknowledges this state grant marks a significant milestone for American Rare Earths, enabling us to further our exploration and development activities at Halleck Creek. https://lnkd.in/gUQ3vuvG ARR.AX $ARRNF $AMRRY Richard Hudson Sten Gustafson Geoffrey Hill Christopher Gibbs John Mansanti Melissa Sanderson Donald Swartz Joe Evers Dwight Kinnes Jose A. This USA TODAY report from students at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, Arizona State University highlights the growing recognition that while the development of a domestic battery materials supply chain is critical to advancing the energy transition here in the U.S., it is equally important that we focus on the technologies and extraction techniques that promise to limit impacts on surrounding environments. LINK: https://lnkd.in/dnfTDTiQ The report notes a surge of proposals for new U.S. lithium mines which will “need billions of gallons of water to operate at a time when much of America’s West is emerging from a megadrought.” The status quo of lithium mining practices is clearly untenable, and investments are needed to advance more responsible solutions in the development of a secure domestic lithium supply chain. Xerion Advanced Battery Corp is committed to doing just that. Our efforts were recognized in 2023, when Xerion was awarded a $1 million U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) prize for our game-changing disruptive technology for extracting lithium from geothermal brines at a low cost using less energy and consuming virtually no water. We are confident that this technology is key to unlocking a massive domestic lithium supply chain from sources such as California’s Salton Sea region, which is home to a lithium supply with the potential to meet all of the United States’ projected future demand for lithium for the next fifty years. #lithiummining #mining #cleanenergy #supplychain #batterymaterials #batterytech #storage #energystorage #energytransition #batteryinnovation #energy

At DLL Solutions a day doesnt go by that we dont read about energy storage and batteries. Today we learned about the recent discovery of a vast lithium deposit in the United States. The McDermitt Caldera, spanning Oregon and Nevada, is estimated to contain between 22 and 44 million tons of lithium, potentially the largest deposit in the world. This significant find could revolutionize the global lithium market, enhancing price stability, supply security, and geopolitical dynamics. The ease of extraction from clay deposits could also mitigate some environmental impacts typically associated with lithium mining. This discovery positions the U.S. as a key player in the renewable energy sector, crucial for the accelerated adoption of electric vehicles and renewable energy storage solutions. How do you think this find will impact the balance of lithium supply and demand globally? Your thoughts are always welcome in the comments section, let's hear them! #RenewableEnergy #Lithium #ElectricVehicles #SustainableFuture #EnergyStorage https://lnkd.in/gS_bHarE
