If you haven’t been to The Museum of Flight in Seattle, you should endeavor to change that. Whether you live in the area, come in for business, or visit as a tourist, set aside a day (or at least half a day) and head on over to the MoF at King County International Airport (also known as Boeing Field). Having visited dozens of aviation museums in numerous countries I can say, without doubt, this is one of the very best. Unfortunately, if you haven't been yet, you just missed the excellent Art+Flight exhibit. The good news, however, is that many of the aircraft and artifacts in the museum’s permanent collection are [at least to an aviation nerd like me] works of art themselves. Maybe I’m biased, but one such piece that qualifies as art is the left hand of the largest pair of Blended Winglets Aviation Partners ever flew. This winglet sits proudly outside the museum’s East Marginal Way entrance right next to William E. Boeing’s first building, the Red Barn. Rather fittingly we flew that winglet on perhaps Boeing’s most recognizable airplane, the 747. Two interesting assumptions about transportation in the future are depicted in the new movie Atlas: One is instead of multi-rotor VTOLs, they are multi-jets. Have you heard of the Nevada Triangle? Often overshadowed by the infamous Bermuda Triangle, this intriguing region in the western United States holds its own share of aviation mysteries. Spanning parts of Nevada, California, and Arizona, the Nevada Triangle has seen the disappearance of an estimated 2,000 aircraft over the past 60 years. Notable among these is the case of millionaire aviator Steve Fossett, who vanished in 2007, only for his wreckage to be found a year later under perplexing circumstances. Much like the Bermuda Triangle, the Nevada Triangle is shrouded in speculation. While extreme weather, high winds, and challenging mountainous terrain offer some explanation, the sheer number of incidents continues to fuel fascination and theories. Whether it's the disorienting seas of the Bermuda Triangle or the rugged, unpredictable skies of the Nevada Triangle, these regions remind us of the enduring mysteries our planet holds. #aviationmysteries #livingaviation

The Lysander was an important and uniquely capable aircraft, most notably known for covert insertion of allied agents into the occupied territories during WW2. Most, if not all, of the other survivors were built under licence in Canada. So, ironically, it appears that the majority of survivors today, were the minority in production during the Second World War. V9312 was proudly built by Westland, Yeovil in 1940. Now the dedicated ‘Home of British Helicopters’ with Leonardo UK.
