Aid worker turned strategist. I help companies do good through Social Impact and ESG strategies. Circular economy, sustainability, CSR, communications, stakeholder engagement and business development.
Hard to find the words to explain what this means to me: Green Gooding is a finalist for the #TheReusies by Upstream, the equivalent of the Oscars for Circularity in the US. We often hear that you need to follow your passion, focus on what drives you. Even after having been an aid worker for years, truth is that life had other (good) plans for me, and that other priorities took precedent. When you are in your 40s, with a lovely family to support, an interesting and busy full time job, an ok bank account, and live in a tiny NYC apartment, it does not seem to be the right time to launch a company that redefines the way we buy and use small appliances. But guess what, I went for it against (mostly) all advice, but with the support from many including Thomas Viguier, Valeria Servranckx, MA, MPA, Nicole Restani Kolbeck, Larasati Vitoux, Alexis Milcent, Luke Mairo, Kenny Arnold, Patrick Whittaker, Samuel Gozlan, Veena Jayadeva, MA, MBA, Mike Hower, Celine Pasteur and many more. Two years later our on demand small appliance rental system is a finalist for the Reusies among hundreds of companies in the US. If you believe in this like I do, and think that we can define new ways to experience more, and own less, encourage you to vote for Green Gooding in the Consumer Package Good category. Here is the link to vote (before May 19): https://lnkd.in/eN7tsVfp With gratitude Francois
We are thrilled to announce that Green Gooding has been selected as a finalist for the 4th Annual Reuse Awards #TheReusies, presented by Upstream and presented live at #Circularity24 on May 23! This recognition is the fruit of months of work and support to build a new system to limit our impact on the environment. Experience more, Own Less. We are deeply honored to be considered among those who are at the forefront of building an economy that is regenerative, circular and equitable. ➡️ You can show your support by VOTING for Green Gooding to win now in the category of Consumer Package Goods by visiting https://lnkd.in/eW5USGm5 and support us by spreading the word to others. The deadline for voting is May 19!

Designing sustainable, autonomous ecosystems that empower communities with water, food, and energy. I defy conformity and challenge greed. My mission: to disrupt the norm and champion community-driven sustainability.
John Deere, with its long-standing reputation and influential position in the agricultural sector, has a unique opportunity to lead a transformative movement in addressing some of the systemic issues plaguing the global food system. As a company that began with a mission to serve the needs of farmers – the very individuals who feed the world – John Deere can realign with its foundational values by championing innovative solutions that directly benefit those at the heart of food production. The current food system is fraught with inefficiencies and inequalities, leading to widespread, unnecessary waste and contributing to the suffering of billions worldwide. As one major example of an underserved community Farmers, often the most affected, grapple with the challenges of a system that undervalues their produce and labor. John Deere can play a pivotal role in rectifying these wrongs by integrating post-harvest processing solutions into their machinery and technology. By focusing on post-processing at or near the source, John Deere can revolutionize how food is harvested and prepared for market. Implementing AI-driven, robotic solutions for on-site processing – such as drying, extracting, milling, and compacting – can drastically reduce the volume and weight of agricultural produce, extend shelf life by years not days, maximize yield, dramatically reduce processing needs down the food cycle road, and increase fair profit for all . This shift not only slashes transportation costs, feeds the community, serves people, profit and environmental impact but also enhances the value of the farmers' yield by minimizing losses and preserving more of the crop. The outputs drive innovation in alternative energy, water, healthcare, food insecurity, textile, construction and on and on and on across dozens of industries that would benefit from processing technologies like membrane extraction, oil extraction and fractionation. Such innovations would also address critical issues like food waste and resource inefficiency. By ensuring more of each harvest is utilized, either for consumption or as a resource in other industries, John Deere could significantly mitigate the amount of waste generated by current agricultural practices. This approach aligns with the global need for sustainable food production and offers a pathway to a more equitable system, where farmers' efforts are more adequately compensated and respected. In essence, by leading the charge in integrating processing solutions into their equipment, John Deere has the potential to not only advance agricultural technology but also to make a profound statement about their commitment to rectifying the imbalances in the global food system. This move could mark a return to their roots as a company dedicated to empowering those who feed the world, driving a future where agriculture is not only more efficient and sustainable but also fairer and more just for all involved. C’mon JD you can do it!

Passionate about Sustainable Packaging, design and communication | Be the change that you wish to see in the world
When many people think of sustainable implementation and ways to accelerate sustainable practices, they often consider protesting and raising concerns about certain aspects of packaging or business practices that are not sustainable. However, the most effective route for many is through policy and legislation. Although this may not be the most exhilarating pursuit, its subsequent impacts are the most crucial aspect.
