AusIS Annual Concert, 2024 For the first time, I produced a drama for a school's annual concert, adapting the story from Sukumar Roy's "Debotar Saja" because its plot aligns perfectly with the theme "peace on earth." Given the current global situation, what more relevant theme could there be? While studying in China, I used to learn Huang Mei opera, and I miss those thrilling days. So, when I was assigned to supervise the DP 1 drama team, I was eagerly looking forward to this day! I gained some valuable insights in a very short period: 1. Managing complicated and large props on a tight schedule with help of the busiest colleagues and students. 2. Leading egoistic, amateur, and complex teenagers. 3. Handling crises, such as the absence of the main character on the day of the performance. 4. Staying calm in the face of unwarranted criticism. This experience reaffirms why I chose this profession and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. With adaptable lyrics and catchy melody, this song opens dialogues about peace in developmentally appropriate ways. The Independence Day celebration at BBPS, Rohin was marked by a special event that brought together mixed groups of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) and their peers. The primary aim of the event was to foster a sense of nationalism and patriotism among the students, while also emphasizing the importance of teamwork. The activities organized for the day included art and craft projects, drawing sessions, finger painting, and solo singing performances. These activities were thoughtfully designed to not only convey the spirit of patriotism but also to orient the students towards the value of working collaboratively. Key Activities: 1. Art and Craft: Students engaged in various art and craft activities, which encouraged them to collaborate with one another, share creative ideas, and work together as a team. This activity highlighted the significance of cooperation and the satisfaction that comes from collective effort. 2. Drawing and Finger Painting: The drawing and finger painting sessions provided students with an opportunity to express their thoughts and emotions related to Independence Day through art. These activities also served as a medium for them to understand and appreciate the historical and cultural values of the nation. 3. Solo Singing: The solo singing performances allowed students to showcase their individual talents while also boosting their confidence. Each participant sang patriotic songs, which reinforced their love and respect for the country.
