Founder & MD of AndRecruit - Entrepenurial Ex-Professional Engineer bridging the skills gap and securing the top talent within the Engineering & Manufacturing Industry
💼 Should You Edit Your Job Title on Your CV??? In engineering job hunting, your CV is your frontline warrior. But should you slightly tweak your job title? Let's break it down. Firstly, it's vital to ensure your CV reflects your actual responsibilities and achievements. Sometimes, titles like "Engineer" or "Technician" don't convey the full scope of your role. Adjusting your title can often help accurately represent your duties without inflating your experience. For example, if you were a "Mechanical Technician" but managed critical components and systems, "Mechanical Engineer" might be more apt. Just remember to stay honest and steer clear of misleading exaggerations. An updated title can enhance your chances of being noticed by hiring managers and recruiters. This is particularly relevant in fast-paced sectors like Engineering, where titles and roles can shift quickly. However, consistency is key. Your job title should match any professional profiles or references. Discrepancies can raise questions, and honesty is always the best policy. If you need to make adjustments, consider clarifying in your job description instead. Moreover, showing how responsibilities evolved during your tenure speaks volumes. At AndRecruit Group, we understand the intricacies of making your CV stand out while staying truthful. If you're unsure about how to present your engineering experience, feel free to reach out. We're here to empower your career journey with integrity. 🔹 Stay honest 🔹 Reflect responsibilities 🔹 Be consistent #AndRecruit #CareerAdvice #Engineering

I help Mechanical & Electrical Engineers achieve their dream careers | Ready to secure higher salaries and better benefits? DM for a career consultation. | Speaker
I've applied to 300+ roles and haven't heard back from any of them. If this sounds familiar, you should reconsider how you're applying to jobs. Here ae 5 changes you can consider making to your job search. 1) Revisit your headline Recruiters aren't searching for "Open to New Opportunities" Use keywords here that matter in the industry you're trying to get into 2) Don't apply where you aren't qualified If you're a mechanical engineer, don't be applying to electrical engineering positions. (Unless you've got all the skills required for the job and have social proof). 3) You aren't showing future employers you're qualified If you're qualified, but your application doesn't show you can crush the job? It's going to go to someone they know will crush the job. Tailor your resume, do some projects, build in public to show your expertise. 4) Don't just use the Easy Apply button. I'm sure this works for some people, but it doesn't work for most people. 250 applicants, 1 person getting the job. 1/250 = .004 Which means this doesn't work for 99.6% of people. 5) Focus on quality applications over quantity applications Spray and pray doesn't work well in this market. Take the time to tailor, research, network, and anything else you can to stand out. #jobsearch #applications
