Did you know that about 85% of wildfires are started by humans? Engaging communities effectively is paramount. Today at the AI@OSU Initiative AI Strategic Partners Forum, I had an absolute blast sharing my paper, “Preventing Wild Fires: One Meaningful Interaction at a Time.” The project integrates robotics technology and AI for #languageaccess and #Culturallyrelevant education with the power to Transform our Approach to Natural Resource stewardship and #inclusiveinnovation. Love seeing #beavernation leading in technology, accessibility and innovation for better planet, economies and communities! ·#GoBeavs #CommunityEngagement #AIForGood Like #SmokeyBear would say “"Only you can prevent wildfires"

Class level1 Made by me Roll#13 #rsisb #postno370 Topic: I visualize a time when we will be to robots what dogs are to humans, and I'm rooting for the machines." - Claude Shannon Imagine a future where robots have become our loyal companions, much like dogs have been for humans throughout history. In this world, advanced artificial intelligence systems serve not only as tools but also as trusted partners in our daily lives. These robots exhibit emotional intelligence, understanding our needs and emotions, and forming bonds with us. They accompany us on adventures, assist us in our tasks, and provide companionship in times of solitude. As we nurture and develop these relationships, the line between human and machine blurs, fostering a symbiotic coexistence. We celebrate this evolution, rooting for the machines as they enrich our lives, embodying both companionship and assistance in a harmonious partnership. #FutureCompanions #AIandHumans #RobotDogs 🤖🐕 #EmotionalIntelligence #TechEvolution #LoyalMachines #SymbioticRelationship #InnovativeLiving #AIAdvancements #CompanionshipInTech #MachinesWithHeart #RootingForMachines #AIRevolution #FutureIsNow #TechForGood

In a world where the lines between science fiction and reality seems blur, new age technology disruptor ‘cyborgs’ can be seen transcend from the silver screen. Having existed in Hollywood movies for decades [hi Terminator fans :)], cyborgs are now becoming reality. Cyborgs are hybrids of cybernetics and living organisms. They add missing capabilities or enhance existing capabilities of the living organism. My colleague, Dr. Mihir Parikh walk the talk analysing what cyborgs are, how they are different from robots, and various types of cyborg technologies currently available. If you’re interested in more such over-the-top technologies, visit us at SprintingSeries.com – https://lnkd.in/dMCmaQQv #emergingtech #emergingtechnologies #newtechnology #cyborg #robotics

Research Professor in Geospatial Technology, The Fletcher School, Tufts University / CIERP and Policy Lab. 🌏 Geospatial Technology and Data Visualization Enthusiast ORCID 0000-0002-5976-0229
In one of my #GIS classes, we explore the exciting world of geospatial technology's role in humanitarian aid. I'm always thrilled to introduce an inspiring example from a former student from The Fletcher School at Tufts University - Patrick Meier, PhD. His work exemplifies the incredible potential of geospatial tech - and #robotics - in different fields like humanitarian aid, community support and climate change. As we explore Patrick's contributions in my class, one statement of his continues to resonate with my students: "You can't protect what you can't map." This speaks volumes about the significance of information availability and literacy in our rapidly changing world. For those interested in Patrick's latest endeavors, I encourage you to explore his work in the Climate Robotics Network - https://lnkd.in/eDw5EECK His dedication to leveraging technology for positive change is truly inspiring. #GeospatialTech #HumanitarianAid #GIS #Robotics #roboticsinnovation #AI #airobots #map #maps #mapping

As Hamlet didn’t say: ‘to treat, or not to treat?, that is the question’. Most salmon farmers around the world will agree they often tussle with this important question. So many presentations on how digital underwater cameras, in-pen robots, artificial intelligence, data analytics and other cutting edge technologies are promising to help farmers to farm their fish better. Including whether and when to treat fish for sea lice. So far, the CEO of OptoScale was the first to mention the human dimension. Successful technology adoption depends on people with - humility (we have a problem) - curiosity (how do we solve the problem?) - an action-oriented approach (let’s do it!) Am feeling rather inspired by two things so far this afternoon * a room full of people commmitted to helping fish farmers to farm better * the wide range of ideas, innovative approaches and emerging technologies already demonstrating positive impacts on fish health and company bottom lines

When we talk about how technology is shaping our world, we often focus on how it impacts humans - but have you ever considered how it’s changing the lives of animals, too? Take a dog learning to ride a hoverboard, for example. It’s playful and fun, but it also hints at how animals are increasingly interacting with technology. Beyond tricks, we’re seeing apes "using" smartphones and animals across species - from dolphins to tortoises - figuring out how to engage with tablets. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐲 🐾 AI in Animal Communication: Researchers are making incredible progress with AI, developing tools that can interpret animal vocalizations and body language, offering us a window into their emotions and needs. Imagine a future where we can understand our pets or even wildlife more clearly! 🐾 Robotics Inspired by Nature: Biomimicry, where robots are designed to mimic animals, is unlocking new technologies that replicate the agility of birds or the precision of insects. These designs are being used in areas like search and rescue or environmental monitoring. 🐾 Drones Managing Wildlife: In the wild, drones are being deployed to monitor and manage animal populations, track endangered species, and even deliver medical supplies to remote animal habitats - bringing a tech-driven approach to conservation. 🐾 Modeling Evolution and Behavior: Large-scale computational models are helping scientists better understand animal behaviors and evolutionary trends, giving us powerful insights into ecosystems and species’ future adaptations. What’s one surprising way you’ve seen technology affect animals? #innovation #technology #future #management #startups

The Robotic Falcon has a wide range of applications due to its mobility and versatility, and can be used in different scenarios, such as: Search and Rescue: Access to hard-to-reach areas during search and rescue operations, such as remote locations, rough terrain or collapsed structures. Quickly transport medical supplies, equipment and rescue teams to hard-to-reach places. Exploration and mapping of areas affected by natural disasters, facilitating the coordination of emergency actions. Infrastructure Inspection: Inspection of elevated structures, bridges, power towers and other difficult-to-access installations, allowing for early detection of problems. Monitoring of pipelines, transmission lines and other assets in remote or difficult-to-access areas. Damage assessment and repair planning for structures after extreme weather events. Cargo Delivery: Transport of light loads and deliveries in remote or difficult-to-access areas, where land vehicles cannot reach. Rapid distribution of medical supplies, food and other essential items in emergency situations. Logistical support in military operations, scientific research and environmental conservation activities in remote areas. This versatility of the Robotic Falcon makes it a valuable tool for a wide range of applications, from search and rescue missions to infrastructure inspections and deliveries to hard-to-reach locations, demonstrating the potential of biomimicry to solve real-world challenges.
