Fortune favours the brave!...as the Latin proverb goes (audentes fortuna iuvat)...
After months of online training and mentoring part of the first Accelerator Program for impact businesses from 🇲🇹Malta and 🇲🇰North Macedonia, yesterday we had a most successful Demo Day! Held very appropriately at the 🇪🇺EU Delegation premises in Skopje, as this event and the overall Accelerator Program is part of the EU Erasmus+ co-funded project “GreenSkills”, and hosted by my local partners Kristijan Mileski and Trajce Voinov
Over 20 young and aspiring entrepreneurs participated in the Acceleration Program we implemented since June with the aim to encourage the development of all-round sustainable businesses and support young entrepreneurs and social enterprises to further collaborate and grow the Social Economy in Malta, North Macedonia and beyond in Europe.
At yesterday’s Demo Day, the Program finalists presented their innovative and impactful business concepts, while jury members Gogo Rafajlovski, Nina Nikolich, Gonca Kara, Ghita Ramdhiansing and Vincent Magri provided them with their expert evaluation feedback. Other over 40 representatives of the startup and social economy ecosystem also attended the event, opening up new opportunities for cooperation, business development and internationalization, not just in Malta and North Macedonia, but also in Republic of Moldova, Turkey, Romania and The Netherlands💪👌🤝
Following voting by the Program experts, Demo Day jury and the audience, the top three ranked businesses were also awarded a special support package that includes assistance in enhancing their brand identity and brand communication, in order to strengthen their market performance and visibility.
The top three winners are Pregju (Malta) - where Daniel Vella & Shawn Incorvaja are working in the healthy snacks area, Mirjana J. - the first Macedonian designer hats brand made from curated textile waste, and Ballon Chua of MannaEV (Malta) – advancing electric mobility in the last-mile delivery sector. Congratulations to all of you, as well as to all the other Program finalists Zen D'Amato Gautam, Kami Clifton, Rozela Franco, Maria Stivala, Lawrence Saliba, Goran Sachevski, Alex Steflea, Sharona Zammit, isaac bezzina, Marina Tosheska, Biljana Atanasovska, Dragana Jovanova, Ivana Sarevska, Marija-Magdalena Petkovska Mikarovska, Angelina Serafimovska, Verche Georgievska, Mila Georgievska You all did a great job👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Want to learn more about their business concepts? Stay tuned as we'll be presenting them in more detail in the following weeks!😊
The Demo Day was also an excellent opportunity for networking and inspiration, with our youth showing great drive and determination to work hand in hand with other more seasoned Social Economy movers and shakers, to become the future leaders in impact businesses and contribute to positive social change!🌍🫂💚
