    Female presence in managing Venture Capital Funds in Europe is low, particularly in senior positions, with only 15% of female GPs and over 80% of investment committees being all male. 🚫👩💼 These numbers need to change. Diverse teams make better investment decisions. 💪💡 So, how can we tackle this? 1️⃣ Empowering women to start a career in venture investment. 2️⃣ Connecting investors with a diverse pool of talented women who will bring fresh perspectives to their teams.     For millennia, we lived in harmony with nature. But modern agriculture is destroying the very habitat we depend on. 🌍 Intensive farming releases 30% of all greenhouse gases and erodes 24 billion tones of topsoil every year. 🚜 That is an area the size of Greece!     By 2030, one in six people worldwide will be aged 60 years or over, increasing from 1 billion in 2020 to 1.4 billion. By 2050, this number is expected to double to 2.1 billion, with the number of people aged 80 and older tripling to 426 million. 🌍 Living older and healthier is a privilege to which all human beings should have access; nevertheless, it’s out of reach to the vast majority. How can we identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities for maintaining the health and well-being of the ageing population? 🔍 We launched our Healthy Ageing Think & Do Tank to focus on prevention through food, aligned with our first mission: Healthier Lives through Food. 🌱 The Healthy Ageing Think & Do Tank brings together strategic and delivery partners from across Europe to foster effective collaboration, knowledge sharing, and impactful initiatives that accelerate #FoodSystem transformation to promote #HealthyAgeing. It’s a catalyst for meaningful dialogue and action towards improving key areas such as malnutrition, gut microbiome, personalised nutrition, immunity enhancement, women’s health, and mental health. 🌟 “We want to contribute to creating opportunities to live long and healthy and extending wellbeing for all ages, regardless of date of birth," says Begoña Pérez Villarreal, Director EIT Food South Region.     It's always a shock to recall that approximately 40% of food is going to waste (WWF). 🍎🗑️ The amount of food lost and wasted could feed 1.26 billion hungry people every year (FAO), providing people with access to affordable, healthy diets and helping address many diet-related health issues worldwide. 🌍🍽️ Food waste and loss are complex challenges that impact the entire #agrifood supply chain, with significant environmental, economic, and social effects. Reducing food waste would lead to significant economic savings, benefiting producers, retailers, and consumers alike. The World Resources Institute (WRI) estimates that the global economic value of food wasted annually is about US$1 trillion. 🥗 Decreasing food waste and loss would also help preserve natural resources and reduce environmental degradation associated with food production, such as deforestation, water pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.     What are the consequences of obtaining 90% of the world’s food calories from a handful of plants? 🌱🌾🌿 Intensive agriculture of these crops leads to reduced biodiversity: since the 1900s, some 75% of plant genetic diversity has been lost to genetically uniform, high-yielding varieties. Maize, wheat and rice production is also becoming increasingly vulnerable to #ClimateChange and extreme weather events threatening global #FoodSecurity. 🌍🔥 At the same time, there's a whole world of forgotten crops that can offer innovative solutions.
