🛠️It really is earning its keep! 🛠️ We’re seeing continuous use of our XYZ Machine Tools Ltd Lathe. Joe in our machine shop recently placed two 4K cams to view the machine in operation. Whilst they’re in protective cases, we’ve taken it easy on their first time out with the metal swarf! Which can cause damage as it flies off the worked component. We’re working (as you may expect) on both the non-drive and the drive end to carry out a bearing housing repair. This job requires the use of a boring bar (which can be anything but if not operated safely), with a multi-purpose turning insert at 04 Radius. This is two days of operation condensed to a little under 3 minutes. We’ll be looking at placing the cameras tool side next time.
