Hello Aviators, #36of100 AOA - Angle of Attack The angle of attack is the angle between the wing of an aircraft and the direction of the oncoming air. (an imaginary straight line from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the wing) 1. Lift Generation: The AOA helps the wing generate lift, which is necessary for the aircraft to stay in the air. As the AoA increases, so does the lift—up to a point. 2. Avoiding Stalls: If the AoA gets too high, the wing can stop producing lift and the plane can stall. Pilots keep an eye on the AoA to avoid this dangerous situation. 3. Aircraft Performance: Different flight phases like takeoff, climbing, cruising, and landing require different AoA settings. Managing it correctly ensures the plane flies efficiently and safely. 4. Safety Systems: Modern aircraft have AoA sensors and indicators to help pilots maintain safe flying conditions. The Airbus A300 is Airbus's first production aircraft and the world's first twin-engine, double-aisle (wide-body) airliner, developed and manufactured by Airbus from 1971 to 2007. The A300 has two underwing podded turbofans. 561 of the A300 was built between 1971 - 2007. The first twin-engine widebody airliner, the A300 typically seats 247 passengers in two classes over a range of 5,375 to 7,500 km. Initial variants are powered by General Electric CF6-50 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D turbofans and have a three-crew flight deck. Unlike most Airbus products, it has a yoke, not using a fly-by-wire system. First flight was 28th October 1972, was then introduced to Air France on 23 May 1974. #sundaythoughts on #advancedairmobility - Strange that the BETA TECHNOLOGIES CX300, the Electra.aero eSTOL, the Eviation Aircraft Alice, the Pipistrel Aircraft Velis Electro and all other eCTOL/eSTOL aircraft just needs an electric charger to be installed at airfields and airports, it will operate from, but passenger eVTOLs need an AAM ecosystem to become a reality. Sao Paulo has over 2200 UAM flights per day with current ATC and we have had passenger UAM services since 1953, and while pilot training is a challenge for powered-lift aircraft, the US military have been training powered-lift pilots for decades. Equipping heliports for eVTOLs should be as simple as equipping airports for eCTOL and eVTOL airports, providing such eVTOLs meet the weight and other requirements. Advancements in automation and autonomy for aircraft and ATC are as applicable to an Airbus A350 jetlimer or Sikorsky UH-60 as they are to any electric aircraft, and not just eVTOLs. https://lnkd.in/dy4dbzb3

An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears. The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: "Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!" He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks, "Well, how was that?" The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!" The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, "Well, how was that? Confused, the jet pilot asks, "What did you do?" The AirBus pilot laughs and says, "I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry. The moral of the story is: When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.
