Attention drawn to pilot fatigue as Batik Air pilots reportedly nod off mid-flight. In Europe, pilot fatigue persists as a significant issue: A 2023 survey of 6,900 pilots revealed 72.9% feel they lack sufficient rest between shifts, with three-quarters experiencing microsleeps on duty in the last month. Gain deeper insights into this critical topic with our latest post, and don't miss the thought-provoking article linked below. https://lnkd.in/dMHDyiT2 (Credit: Getty Images & BBC By Zaria Gorvett, Features correspondent) #simbuddy #aviation #aviationnews #airlines #pilots #aircrew #aviationindustry #captains #captain #fo #firstofficers #firstofficer #airlineindustry #cityjet #atc #AirTrafficControl #airtrafficcontroller #pilotfatique #luchtvaart #bombardier #boeing #embraer #pilot #flightsafety #aviationsafety #humanfactors

The EGPWS system will adjust colours on the terrain display automatically as the aircraft altitude changes. The terrain display transitions between the lower altitude relative display and the higher altitude peaks display automatically. No pilot action is required. The most important function of the EGPWS is to give the pilot easy interpreted information about terrain/obstacles relative to the aircraft, and increase the situational awareness for the pilot. In general, the normal presentation of green, yellow and red colours. #egpws #avionics #helicopters Aircrafts & Helicopters #aircraftmaintenancetechnician

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱-𝗟𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a final rule establishing regulations to support the integration of powered-lift aircraft into the National Airspace System over the next decade. This rule introduces a framework for certifying powered-lift pilots and instructors, addressing specific requirements for single-flight control systems and solo pilot stations. Alongside these certification guidelines, the rule clarifies and adjusts operating rules to accommodate powered-lift technology, using a performance-based approach. Additionally, changes are made to practical testing requirements across various aircraft types, including helicopters and airplanes, enhancing training and eligibility standards for rotorcraft instructors in training centers. These updates collectively advance the FAA’s effort to safely expand powered-lift operations within the national airspace.

✈️Aircraft navigation lights are used to indicate an aircraft’s position and orientation to other pilots and to avoid collisions; Red Light: Positioned on the left wingtip. Green Light: Positioned on the right wingtip. White Light: Positioned on the tail or rear of the aircraft. These lights are used as follows: Red Light: Indicates the left side of the aircraft. Green Light: Indicates the right side of the aircraft. White Light: Shows the rear of the aircraft. In addition to these, aircraft may also have: Anti-collision lights: Typically flashing white or red lights that enhance visibility. Landing lights: Used during takeoff, landing, and taxiing. These lights help pilots determine the orientation of other aircraft and ensure safe separation during flight. #aviationdaily #aviationknowledge #aviation #NavigationLights Credits: ig/ @Aviation Review Mate

Knowing how to safely operate an aircraft is crucial, but it's not the whole picture. 🛩️ Being ready to handle unexpected issues mid-flight is just as important. Pilots also need to stay emotionally steady, even in stressful situations, to make good decisions and handle challenges well. #leeds #aviation #yorkshire #PilotJourney #AviationInspiration #YorkshireAviationAcademy
