Andreozzi + Foote in the news regarding representation of survivors and the Maryland Chid Victims Act, with so much focus on the Catholic Church, we forget this abuse is pervasive everywhere. Our client in this case is suing the Mormon Church. Though the girl got justice in criminal court against Edvalson, who died years ago, “the church itself, who let this known predator hang around kids, has never been held to account,” said her attorney, Nathaniel L. This is wrong on so many levels....
Dear Barbara, If a Jewish person complains about antisemitsm in the workplace, telling them it's not a place for them is actually a form of discrimination and a title VI violation. Adding to that "We stand with Palestine" and "decolonize your mindset" is pure harassment. I hope this Jewish person finds a good lawyer and brings you the full consequences for your vicious antisemitism in a courtroom. #Litigation #Denver #lawsuit Transformative Justice Project of Colorado Colorado Attorney General's Office Denver District Attorney's Office Mike Johnston Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTERS OF DENVER

In the last two decades, it’s become increasingly clear that dioceses across the country and around the world purposefully shuffled priests reported to be sexual abusers of children to different parishes once there was a complaint. The Illinois Attorney General’s Office has released a 2023 report on clergy abuse finding that victims amounted to a minimum of 1997 children across the state. If you or a loved one were a victim of clergy abuse, contact Moll Law Group at 312.462.1700 or complete our form at molllawgroup.com. Background Checks with AI and Context Based Screening | Cultivating Dynamic Company Culture | CEO at Bchex
The article from Forbes discusses the journey of Kay Rogers, a former Butler County (Ohio) Auditor who, after serving time in prison for fraud charges, is now running for Congress. This story highlights the essential nature of context in background screening. Accuracy and truth are not always synonymous in background checks. It's crucial to use the screening process to gather information that brings us closer to the "truth" about a candidate. Background checks are unique in that they provide a snapshot of an individual's past, but what truly matters is what the individual has done since then. This is where you find the deeper truth and, often, discover individuals who can be invaluable assets to your team. In Rogers' case, her journey from conviction to a congressional candidacy underlines the importance of considering the entirety of a person's story — not just a single chapter. This approach aligns with our belief in prioritizing accuracy while recognizing the humanity in every story.

Not inappropriate ❌ Not a relationship❌ Not a sexual preference ❌ Not a sexual behavior ❌ ✅Sexual abuse. Call this what it is, sexual abuse. Predators in religious institutions, as I discuss directly in my book, exploit the faithful to protect themselves. Often calling on tenants of forgiveness, forcing families to avoid contacting the civil authorities. This case, which should see the inside of a courtroom, is a clear example of GAS and illustrates that the grooming process happens anywhere we have the necessary ingredients. Every religious institution must open their eyes to the potential for abuses and actively prevent predation through their policies and enforcement. If you currently suspect abuse within your religious community, you must contact civil authorities. Then, report abuses or suspicious behavior to religious leaders. Not the other way around. #duckduckgroom #preparednotparanoid #therapisttips

Supreme Court's Decision on Graham Staines Murder Case: Analyzing the Remission Plea The Supreme Court's decision on the remission plea filed by Dara Singh, the convict in the infamous Graham Staines murder case, has sparked significant debate and reflection within the legal and human rights communities. This case has been a touchstone for discussions on religious intolerance, justice, and the criminal justice system in India. In recent developments, Dara Singh filed a plea for remission of his life sentence, arguing that he has already served over two decades in prison. The legal framework as stipulated in Section 432 & 433 of CrPC, allows for the reduction of sentences under specific conditions, subject to the discretion of the state government and the approval of the judiciary. The court's decision to reject the plea for remission was based on several critical factors: ◾ Severity of the Crime: The Supreme Court emphasized that the brutal nature of the murders warranted the continuation of the life sentence. The act was premeditated and carried out with extreme cruelty, making it an unfit case for remission. ◾ Message to Society: Granting remission in such a high-profile case could set a dangerous precedent, potentially undermining the deterrent effect of life sentences for heinous crimes. The court underscored the need to send a clear message that crimes driven by religious intolerance and hatred would not be tolerated. ◾ Victims' Rights and Justice: The decision also considered the rights of the victims and their families. The court recognized the profound loss and trauma experienced by the Staines family and the broader impact on the community they served. Upholding the life sentence was seen as an affirmation of justice for the victims. Broader Implications : It reiterates the principle that while remission is a recognized legal provision, it is not an automatic right and must be carefully scrutinized in the context of the crime's nature and societal impact. This case also brings to light the challenges of balancing retributive justice and rehabilitative justice. While the criminal justice system aims to rehabilitate offenders, certain crimes, due to their severity and societal repercussions, necessitate a stringent approach to uphold the principles of justice and deterrence. The Supreme Court's refusal to grant remission underscores the judiciary's commitment to maintaining the sanctity of justice and protecting the secular fabric of the nation. This decision reinforces the message that heinous crimes, particularly those motivated by religious intolerance, will be met with the full force of the law. #SupremeCourt #GrahamStaines #DaraSingh #Justice #HumanRights #ReligiousIntolerance #CriminalLaw #LegalUpdate #IndianJudiciary #Remission #LegalFramework #CriminalJustice #VictimsRights
