🌿 Last week, the #ReBuilt project held its annual meeting in #Bali, Indonesia, bringing together partners from across the world in fields ranging from research to non-profit work to policymaking. 🌿 Over seven days, we explored the future of #RegenerativeBuilding, including #bamboo construction and #sustainable material sourcing. Our local partners inspired us with many amazing examples of #regenerative practices in the Balinese context. Participants from Germany, South Africa, Indonesia, and Bhutan shared ideas and strategies for implementing these practices in their own local contexts.💡 Read more on our website: https://lnkd.in/eJHDNajQ In the ReBuilt project, we are exploring the use of #regional and #biobased materials in four diverse city-regions to facilitate the shift toward a regenerative #BuiltEnvironment. Such special EDP memories. Looking back to January 2011, it has been almost 14 years since Andrew Boraine and I started our work to design the EDP in partnership with numerous supporters, partners and funders. After a rigorous, robust, often gruelling first year of engagement, learning and co-creation in 2011, the EDP was finally launched in April 2012. The video in the link below describes the process so perfectly. I feel immensely fortunate to have been able to be contribute to the establishment and workings of this incredible organization until January 2015. Having built this foundation more than a decade ago, it is always a proud moment to arrive at an EDP event - in this past week the EDP Xchange - and enjoy the always thought-provoking discussions, deliberations and fruits of the hard work of the current EDP team, further building on the strong and stable initial foundation that was set at the beginning. May the spirit and culture of partnering, lateral thinking and problem-solving continue as the EDP team may shift and change. May this always be a place that all feel welcome, where all voices are heard and where we are enabled to move collectively to find our way in this maze of complexity from one step of the solution to the next. Our two-day community of learning workshop has kicked off today at the Industrial Development Corporation with our 35 civil society partners. These CSOs are doing ground breaking work in the field of community development and social upliftment. Some of our key areas of focus : 1. What is an exceptional piece of social innovation that is generating community well-being & health 2. How do you know that a development agenda is making a real change in communities 3. How can civil society partner more effectively for change

In our everyday lives, we interact with social infrastructure — the networks that connect us to each other and to opportunities. Social infrastructure comes in different forms, each facilitating different types of social connection: havens to gather around shared identity, hubs to connect across different backgrounds, and hangouts to just be. This is essential for the health and well-being of societies. When done right, social infrastructure does more than building relationships alone, it advances economic opportunities, climate resilience, and even social and racial justice within communities.
