Ducati and Triumph unexpectedly took on the challenge of building a Motocross bike each, despite having no prior know-how, yet both managed to produce remarkably solid bikes capable of winning or competing at the top of their categories. Triumph made its debut in the World Championship, hovering around the podium with impressive speed and consistency in the MX2 class, where high-revving engines are crucial. Meanwhile, Ducati made its first appearance in the Italian championship, winning its inaugural race. Although the competition level wasn't the highest, considering the bike was born just six months prior, it's quite remarkable. Nowadays, motorcycle manufacturers are capable of achieving miracles, even though we're talking about industry giants. This is truly fascinating. Looking back, there are numerous examples of bikes that were unfortunate and ended up without any glory.
