This is the River Misbourne, a rare chalk stream, one of only 225 in the entire world and Thames Water is filling it with sewage, and has been for months, with shit discharging from the Amersham balancing tanks. Interesting that the sewage map for this location shows this discharge monitor as currently “offline”, I wonder why? #sewagescandal #sickofsewage

Terrible..... keep up the good work highlighting these these water company scandals....

I grew up in Little Chalfont, bucks spending many long hours playing in the Misbourne river. What a crying shame and a disgusting example of our water Utilities today. Do they have no consideration for the environmental impact? #nra #waterutilities #wateruk #enviromentagency

Alert the Environment Agency? If the Tories haven't already closed it down A leak/ pollution like this should be costing someone a £1m per day That would focus the CEO & shareholders minds a little Why does this no longer happen ?

My heart sinks when I see things like this. When I was a boy my mates and I all played in clear streams, a lot had sticklebacks in. Then the pig industry went mad with growth with no regulations to protect our waterways. Regulations came in and our clear streams returned, but now this time we don’t have pigs but pigs in the trough! As long as they get their bonuses they don’t give a shit - no pin intended - about our countryside. Everybody knows what’s going on but the government doesn’t want to know as there’s a good chance they’ll get the countryside vote anyway. Shame on you Sunak as with one signature on the right paper, you could get this sorted tomorrow.

Same here in Cornwall, the sh*te is piped out to sea in the hope that it will go away. It doesn’t, it just washes up all over the place. Water Companies! The mere phrase makes me angry. Everything that was already bought and paid for by the English is now mostly owned by Johnny Foreigner who is paid a fat dividend from the ‘profits’ of said water companies who are now £billions in debt. How?

The water companies need to be held accountable but so does the government that allows them to get away with it. This allowance was probably the sweetener when the water companies were sold off but it has been abused for years with zero sanction. Profit over morality again!

I live near there. Such streams should provide havens for nature and family leisure, such as kids paddling. It's disgusting, as is the widespread dumping of sewage in all our waters by all our water companies. Our water companies, regulators and Government have completely failed to stop the release of sewage to our waters. Shame on them all. Privatisation has failed to check the pollution. Its time for a action and a change. #thameswater #environmentagency #defra

And the UK has the least wildlife percentage in all of Europe because there isn't strict enough legislation to stop these scumbags.
