The opportunity to contribute to this whitepaper was such an honor. In consulting we may see the disconnect in what occurs in R&D and how it is not always able to bring a product to commercial success or even market entry. Encouraging an early partnership with R&D with payer, patient and provider expectations and unmet needs can avoid missteps with potential costly results. The biggest risk is a product that can make meaningful patient difference, but never gets to those individuals.

In the early 2000s, I embarked on an exciting journey in #biomarkerdiscovery within GSK's R&D division. Back then, we were pioneering the setup of labs equipped with cutting-edge LC-MS and GC-MS technologies, marking a significant leap forward in small molecule analysis. These innovations opened doors to unprecedented insights into advancing precision medicine. Spending years immersed in the lab, I dedicated myself to advancing and supporting these groundbreaking techniques. My passion for the field drove me to explore the intricate nuances of biomarker discovery, shaping my entire career trajectory from industry to academia and back. Fast forward 20 years later, and I find myself returning to the world of discovery biomarker labs in the pharmaceutical industry through my consulting endeavors. While technological advancements have undoubtedly transformed the landscape, it's striking to realize that many of the challenges we faced decades ago still persist today. Despite the passage of time, the core mission remains unchanged: to unravel the complexities of biomolecular signatures and pave the way for precision medicine breakthroughs. My journey has come full circle, reaffirming my unwavering commitment to driving innovation and tackling persistent challenges in the pursuit of better patient outcomes. As I continue to navigate this dynamic field, I'm reminded of the invaluable lessons learned and the limitless potential that lies ahead.
