Thank you for sharing your story with us, Tiffany! 🤩 Title and department: Senior COBRA Client Relationship Manager, Client Services Tenure: 6-years What three words would you use to describe yourself? Kind, giving, and caring What are your favorite hobbies outside of work? My absolute passion is my little family! I was lucky enough to get a second shot at love and marriage in my later years in life and my favorite thing in the world is to love and serve my little family. What is an interesting or general fact about yourself that you like to share? I am completely obsessed with fall and all things Halloween. What is your favorite quote or mantra? "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve Jobs What motivated you to pursue your current career? I have always been a giver, and I sprinkle kindness around like glitter. I wanted a job where I not only made a paycheck, but also made a difference in other people's lives. I feel that I can do that in my role here, and I love every single day that I get to do it! What is your proudest professional accomplishment? Being there for someone when they needed it most. What is one tip you would give on how to manage your workload and stay productive? The best way to balance your day is to take stock in every item you have, categorize them by need and urgency, and remain calm and focused on the end result, which is helping everyone in a timely manner. What do you like most about working at Clarity? Helping others. Working on the COBRA side of things, you deal with very delicate situations. Loss of employment, health issues needing coverage, financial hardships - I get to help others in some of their most vulnerable times and make a not-so-great part of their life a little easier. Submit a picture of yourself doing what you love with who you love! I love spending time with my family, hiking and swimming at the gorge, and making creepy Halloween crafts.

How to Have a Mid-Life Crisis in 7 Easy Steps: 1. Send your youngest baby back to college in Boston and move her into a questionably safe 200sf apartment. 2. Help your oldest baby relocate to Phoenix, where you’re not even sure what time zone she’s in. 3. Coach your middle baby through her senior year of college with no certain plans for how to leverage that Humanities and Cultural Studies degree. 4. Get laid off from one of the most meaningful and impactful jobs you’ve ever had (while saying goodbye to the youngest baby who is standing, teary-eyed, on a street corner in Boston at the exact moment you are losing your job). 5. Get the mammogram you've been putting off for far, far too long. 6. Go on that European vacation you’ve been planning with your husband for over a year as a literal YOLO gesture. And most importantly . . . 7. Be grateful. Stand up tall. Brush off your ego. And put yourself out there again.

(2) What do you feel has been your biggest accomplishment thus far?  - I have been so grateful for the opportunity to help our clients do big, ambitious, important and status quo-busting work. Whether it's breaking new ground in mental health treatments, shifting how people access and benefit from high value health care and social services, or driving health equity, I'm proud of the mission-driven work that prioritizes the social good. (3) What advice would you give yourself one year ago?  - Trust the process. Creativity can be messy and slow, but giving space delivers better outcomes.

One of the biggest surprises to me in the working world has been how low the bar is.  It just doesn’t take much to stand out.  Mostly what you need to do is: Show up. Do the work. Have a good attitude. It’s not much more complicated than that.  Being awesome?  Sounds great.  But just be dependable first.  Put in the time. I think Woody Allen was right.  90% of your success will come if you just show up for the thing. Show up for your job, day in and day out.  It will eventually get noticed. Show up for that funeral even if you weren’t that close. It will matter to someone who was there. Show up for that daddy daughter date.  Sure you might be awkward.  But the fact that you prioritized it speaks volumes to your little girl. Where are you tempted to just stop showing up right now because it doesn’t feel like it matters? What is one way you can show up this week for someone else? I was asked by a co-worker to post this on LinkedIn, just in case you did not read my post in our company chat. I truly believe what we had at Assurance IQ, was unique and pray that everyone knows that WE are those people that made the difference. We take that with us to our next employer. This is just a pivot in life. Keep caring 🌸 When they announced the closure of Assurance IQ, I witnessed heart-wrenching conversations unfold. Individuals faced the possibility of losing their homes and struggling through maternity leave without job security. The stories seemed endless. While others were engaging in the chat with questions, my focus remained on observing everyone's reactions and reflecting on how fortunate I am to not be facing those challenges. My path ahead won't be devoid of obstacles, but it's crucial to acknowledge that there are individuals enduring even greater hardships. This realization guides my thoughts as I offer prayers and well wishes for everyone affected. Rather than harboring resentment, it's important to remember that there are always those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Whenever you've received an email from me, you've probably noticed this quote at the bottom of my emails: "The things we do, the things we say, are gentle rays of hope that touch us all each day!"  I have chosen to include this message in all my emails because I genuinely believe in its sentiment ever since I first heard this song. During these challenging times, let's strive to always show kindness and support those who may be facing difficulties. Here's the first in what will be a series of blogs from Crystal Thompkins,CAP®,CSPG (she/her) about her career transition journey and whatever else strikes her fancy!

As I have transferred to another position within my agency within the last few months, I am reminded of a few of life's truths. 1. Never approach a task, a person, or a responsibility with the attitude "it's not my job." Everyone is part of multiple teams, whether they want to be or not, and a team mentality is essential to success, as well as relationships. 2. Though a team mentality is important, it's also important to set boundaries. It's easy to allow others to leave a task to you instead of taking it on themselves. You need to set boundaries for yourself, saying "no" or finding an alternate solution to you taking on extra work to make things easier for others. 3. Tying in with number 2, it's okay to say "No". Everyone has their own responsibilities and it's easy to become overwhelmed unless you learn to utilize that word when necessary. 4. Celebrate the accomplishments of others. Also celebrate what others do by showing appreciation and gratitude towards those who are part of your multiple teams. Just make sure that your gratitude is sincere and that you don't express gratitude to the point that the receiver feels the appreciation is insincere. It's also important to take a moment to yourself to celebrate your own accomplishments and what you like about yourself. 5. It's okay to admit a miss-step or to being wrong. When a mistake occurs take responsibility for that mistake and take action to correct said mistake. This will bring respect towards you and will develop an integrity that others won't question. 6. Give yourself and your co-workers some grace. No one is perfect. Expecting perfection is setting yourself up for failure. 7. Do something every day to grow. Whether it's taking an interesting class, listening to music, reading something fun or inspirational, creating a piece of art, or just talking to someone about something meaningful. 8. Take time every day for even just five minutes to yourself. 9. It's okay to reinvent yourself. Though it may take longer when you are in the same position, around the same people, or are surrounded by people who have heard of your reputation, you can change yourself for the better at any time, one step at a time. 10.
